Travail : Project description: Happy Kids Camp is the project that wishes to take advantage of the kids and teenagers free time to do something useful for their personal development. With the cooperation with department of Youth development in Zanzibar this project will offer opportunity for children and teenagers from all social-economic background, ethnicity and religions to have time together during the school holidays. The project is expected to plant seed of peace and harmony with various groups in the community.
Project Activities: Participants are expected to interact with children and teenagers from the age of 6-14 years in the outlined activities: - Games: Indoor and outdoor games that will stimulate learning, team building and activeness. Local games will be introduced as well foreign ones from the volunteers. Please bring new games to share with Kids; Physical activities: Action jumping, Olympic Games etc. Gardening: Ornamental and vegetable planting, composting, garden tour Zetc.; Nature activities: Bird watching, Plant a tree, Tree feeder, learning about various plants, birds, animals, worms, and insects available in the area;. Academic development: Holidays' home works, various competitions aiming to motivate children's academic development and get ready for the new academic semester.

Study part: Participants of this project will have an opportunity to experience life with kids in the community. Various Discussions and educational visits on Children's' issues will be organized involving participants of the project, community members/visited places and schools. Travail : Project description: This project has been designed enhance environmental sustainability in answering the needs of preserving the coastal environment of Uzi Island. It has been reported that most of the coastal lines in Tanzania are in danger of erosion, distributed marine life habitats among many other problems as a result of cutting mangrove by local people and heavy force from the river flows. It is more described that; in the past many kinds of fish and shrimps are living there, but now since the condition of the mangrove forest is getting worse, it is quite difficult to find the species anymore. Fisherman also needs to go further to the ocean to fish and it means much work they need to do to earn money. Zanzibar coastal lines are one of the directed affected by global climate change among many of islands in the world. The end results of this project contribute to the preservation of natural diversity and sea shore from the erosion and marine life habitat.

Project Activities: Participants will be involved in the following outlined activities:-Mangrove trees re-planting; Preparation of fish ponds for fish farms to support community income generation to reduce pressure from the sea and mangrove forest; Support various activities of seaweed farmers with the purpose of creating diversity of economic activities; Language teaching to the Children and young people to enhance their communication skills; Painting of school/Health centres.
Study part: Participants of this project will have an opportunity to experience life with local community members in Uzi Island. Various Discussions and educational visits will be organized involving participants of the project, community members and visited places. The major topic will be Coastal Environmental Conservation. Travail : Project description: In every country Tanzania included there are unfortunately many children who have been abandoned to their own luck, born in homes with no love, abused, or suffer poverty and sickness. These children need a loving heart, attention, education and friends who can help them find a better life full of opportunities, be successful and most important have happiness life.
UVIKIUTA Youth Centre is organizing this project with Children's home in Chamazi with the main goal to increase the overall wellbeing of the children in the community. Children at the Children's' home are orphans and others use to live in socially challenging conditions and that is why they are taken to this home.
We have been working here where team of volunteers go to the Children's' home to spend quality one-on-one time with the babies and children giving them the love and attention they need at such a crucial time in their lives.
Project Activities: Depending on the skill/interest; of participants are expected to be involved in any of following activities: - Teach English (2-3 hours a day) ; Sanitation (teaching personal hygiene); Organize games, drawing, and other creative extracurricular activities; Help with home works; Care for those who cannot go to school; Assist with kitchen duties, and maintaining the kitchen garden; Renovation of the children's' dormitory at the Children home.
Study part: Participants of this project will have an opportunity to experience life with kids at the children's home. Various Discussions and educational visits on Children issues will be organized involving participants of the project, community members and visited places. Travail : Project description: In Tanzania as other countries around the world, sustainable living is a hot topic. Many people may have heard about sustainable living and are not sure exactly what it means. Lack of knowledge and exposure has significantly increase lifestyles that cause more environmental damage for future generations to deal with. Sustainable living applies to almost every part of daily life hence there is an importance to be addressed.
In responding to the issue of sustainable living; the eco village host of this work camp, was initiated. The Eco Village initiative is a community designed to address challenges to attain sustainable development. Village members are united by shared ecological, socio - economic and cultural spiritual values and are characterized by efficiency energy use, enhanced recreational values, encouraging biogas and local food production, sustainable reliance on local resources and investing on environmental conservation. The overall goal is to build an ecologically balanced society.
Project Activities: Activities of the project will include:- Establishment/Management of tree nursery; Management of the herbal & Medicinal plants garden for education and demonstration; Maintenance of the demonstration organic vegetable garden; Composting activities for organic garden and education; Management of free range chickens; Organizing educational activities on sustainable living & healthy eating.
Study part: Educational tours and workshops related to the project theme and other development issues will be organized to provide an opportunity for participants to be more informed on social, cultural and economic realities of the area. Travail : Project description: HIV/AIDS epidemic is continuing to grow despite initial optimism that prevention strategies implemented several years ago were beginning to have a positive impact. According to UNAIDS and WHO, stigma and discrimination, whether actual or feared, remain perhaps the most difficult obstacles to prevention of HIV. This project is organized in cooperation with the department of Youth development to increase awareness of prevention, transmission and infection of HIV/AIDS amongst key groups and also to try and remove some of the stigma attached to people living with HIV and AIDS. Sports will be used as a major tool to reach out the wider community.
Project Activities: Participants will be involved in series of activities leading to exploration, understanding, challenge and act on issues around HIV-AIDS in the community. These include mobilization for free HIV counseling and testing, field visits to HIV/AIDS facilities and service providers. Other activities will include awareness of how to prevent transmission and infection of HIV/AIDS, and issue around stigma attached to people living with HIV and AIDS. These will be conducted in a form of workshops, debates, arts and music, sports bonanza/Tournaments, etc. Participants will participate as well in painting of one of the health facility in the community.
Study part: Participants of this project will have an opportunity to experience life with local communities in Dodoma Municipality. Various Discussions and educational visits will be organized involving participants of the project, community members and visited places. The major topic will be Volunteerism against HIV-AIDS. Travail : Project description: It is believed that the world's population recently passed more than 7 billion people, an incredible number to measure. In Tanzania, Africa as well around the world many people still barely meet anyone outside of a small circle of family, friends and community while even more never venture beyond the culture in which they were raised. The intercultural experience project is aiming to serve as an important means of introducing people around the world to realities they might not normally be exposed to. Many barriers have begun to fall between people around the world, with near-instantaneous communication allowing people on opposite sides of the world to meaningfully interact. Intercultural exposure project encourage people from all walk of life to appreciate and understand distinct cultures and play a key role in creating productive dialogue across the world.
Project Activities: The project will involve most of the cultural aspects to enable participants to describe people's economic, family and community life, sports, foods or arts. The focus is on PEOPLE and what they do in a given place or time. Some interesting activities like weaving mats and baskets, henna painting, hair dreading, cooking, tie dye and batik painting, Swahili classes, dancing, singing and drumming classes will be organized. Be prepared as well to participate in painting of children's' class rooms as well working with children at the local school.

Study part: Discussions, debates, cultural performances, theatre performance, and round table discussions on cultural issues will be organized involving participants of the project, community members/visited places and schools. The major topic will be Intercultural experience. Please bring information from your home community including past positive and even negative experience on intercultural for sharing and learning.
