Our local partner is the local branch of FAGAD at Esse. It is helped by the village development committee. We work with them for years. With our one of our French partners, we have built a recreational center with library and the creation of income generating activities.

Theme :project of improvement in the living conditions of the population of ESSE and the education of their children Our association through this programme wants to attempt to bring a comfortable support to a village which we would say lives a little in a forgotten world. Our programme in this village is centered on the education of the children and the population to provide them with a better future. We have provided a library with the help of our partner ENOUMAMA of France. It remains in order to make the utilization of this library more efficient and above all develop the AGR ( activities generating revenue ) to enable the library self – financing. We envisage the creation of a botanic garden associated with raising livestock where the persons coming will inform themselves on the conditions of life and exchange ideas with the locals with a view to helping them to improve these elements. Work to be done;  Sensibilization of the schools in favor of reading  Assist in the management of the library  Assist the librarian to develop a good management framework for the center  Aid in the realization of a programme of creation of activities capable of generating revenues to make the center self - financing  Participate in the work involved in the creation of a botanic garden  Participate in the creation of a farm to raise livestock Period : open all the year round What the volunteer can bring ; Children’s games, school items, books, seeds, and small financial donations

Volunteers will be accommodated in a house that people will put their facilities. Esse is electrified but often that not. The village was the scourge of forrage own. The population is very friendly. we work there over 10 years. FAGAD provide mattresses to all volunteers. Everyone will take care of household chores and cooking. The village youth volunteers often help. The food is both African and European. The village produces beaucaup africa Djin. Drink in moderation

Location The population of the village according to census returns amounts to around 2 700 inhabitants. There are items of infrastructure such as: two primary schools, a college for secondary education, a FAGAD library, a market and a dispensary ( a small health center ). The dominant activity is agriculture. The village has an electric generator group, but it does not operate every day. Therefore it is necessary to encourage the installation of another system, notably a system of solar panels. Leisure Cultural activities ; Percussion ( Djembé ) and dancing around the fire A day with a family ; a day’s immersion with an African family organized around the following themes: animism, putting the village chief in place, traditional marriage, a day in the camp site. Nearby touristic attractions:  Fuentes Farm circuit ( Adeta….monastries of DanyiDzogbegan and Fuentes Farm together with the America hospital at Tsiko )  Kloto circuit ( Mount Kloto, whence it is possible to catch a glimpse of Lake Volta in Ghana: Kamalo Falls, artisanal centre at Kpalimé, Kpalimé market.)  Circuit AgouWomé( Agou Peak, the highest in Togo, Womé Falls, Kpalimé market.)  Circuit Kpélé ( KpéléLonda Falls or Dzanipé with its beautiful Falls, Tsaviè Altar of Rest.)  Circuit Toutou – to ( FIATOE site, communcal forest of FAO Kpékpéta and Agbomé, Peul village. ) OTHER POSSIBILITIES : Possibility to discover also Northern Togo ( large cities like Atakpamé, Sokodé, and Kara, Aledjo Fault ( the road passes through the rock ), Tamberma country, Niamtougou Falls…) and the Nangbeto Dam with the pond for hippopotamus.

the participation fees is 330 euros per month Conditions relative to a long term stay The charge for a stay is 330 Euros for the thirty one days: this is on the basis of 11 Euros daily ( with a reduction equivalent to the daily charge if the month has only 30 days ). - Basic expenses; 100 Euros not reimbursable and to be paid for all the months of the stay immediately the day of arrival. It covers the preparation of the project, welcome on arrival, integration to the local culture, integration to projects, homologue, support funds for the projects and all that is necessary for its coordination. - Direct expenses: 230 Euros, covering the costs of the stay, catering charges and certain transfers or movement. NB : - It is to be noted that these charges are for each individual and do not cover any relation of the volunteer accompanying him or she in respect of the participation in a work camp. - Those who are registered directly ( those who do not pass via one of our partner organizations or the Coordination Committee of International Voluntary Service ) pay an additional sum of 130 euros in respect of international solidarity. - - This sum of 130 Euros, international solidarity charge, is payable prior to arrival of the volunteer. On receipt of the confirmation of the payment of these charges, FAGAD sends an official invitation letter to the volunteer. In respect the different methods of transfer of the sum in question, please contact us for information relative to our bank account. Payment conditions Example 1 : A volunteer who wishes to spend three months with FAGAD, on arrival pays 530 Euros (100 Euros x 3 + 230 Euros ), in respect of each period of thirty – one ( 31 ) days 230 Euros. He can also pay the totality ( 990 Euros ) at the same time if he so desires. Example 2 : A volunteer who wants to spend six months with FAGAD, on arrival pays 830 Euros and then each period of thirty – one days ( 31 ) the sum of 230 Euros It is desirable that the participants for a period of more than a month pay all the expenses of their stay on the basis of a single transfer of money to avoid all the other expenses occasioned by the transfers if the payment is made by a single transfer. It is advisable to ensure that the funds arrive before the beginning of the project. As an example, a stay of three months is equivalent to 300 Euros ( 100 Euros x 3 ). prior to the beginning of the project. OTHER : A participant’s remaining stay is less than a month, will see the additional charge for expenses calculated on the basis of 11 Euros a day. 1. Global : Direct expenses linked to the stay for the volunteer who decides to terminate his stay before the date agreed with the welcoming organization and the organization sending him or her are not reimbursed. The direct expenses of the participant obliged to leave the work camp because of a poor organization ( non - respect of the definition of the work project and absence of food will be reimbursed the remaining direct charges. But it should be understood that it is impossible for FAGAD to provide to each and everyone the food they eat in their own country ). 2. Partials : - The participant who, for medical reasons ou any other reason corresponding to force majeure ( reasons outside the control of the following ) known to FAGAD and the organization sending the volunteer and recognized as such by these latter, will be obliged to leave the country before the end envisaged of the programme will be reimbursed by FAGAD on the basis of 7 Euros 40 cts per day. - . Example : A volunteer for a programme of three months pays on arrival the sum of 530 Euros: 100 Euros x 3 months ( covering the preparatory charges, the welcome and integration to the culture of the country and the projects, of the homologue and …. and the support funds for projects ) not reimbursable: and 230 Euros of direct expenses reimbursable. However, for medical reasons, the participant must return home after having completed 10 days of his work programme ( 10 days x 7 euros 40 cts = 74 Euros ), he will be reimbursed as follows: 230 Euros – 74 Euros = 156 Euros. - The participant, who, for medical reasons, is obliged to leave the village for more than five consecutive days during the period of the work camp as defined above, will be reimbursed by FAGAD, the welcoming organization, the 7 Euros per day of absence including the five days. It must be noted that this formula will only be applied if FAGAD is informed directly or by its local representative of the situation in the first place, and if the absence is verified by a period of hospitalization and a rest prescribed by a recognized medical center. Also accepted is a period of rest to return to physical or mental health agreed by the participant of FAGAD. - The participant whose latest period does not meet the thirty ( 30 days )will pay the appropriate sum for the remaining days at the rate of 7 Euros 40cts a day. This applies to those who have already paid the different non reimbursable expenses. - The participant who, at the end of his work period as defined above, decides to remain on the programme for a while longer will not pay any additional non - remboursable expenses but will continue to pay direct expenses at the rate of 7 Euros a day. Other facilities FAGAD puts at the disposition of volunteers and participants on the programmes who, before and/or after their programme do not have sufficient means to pay for hotel accommodation, its foyers at Lomé and at Adeta. A nights lodging for one person in the foyer at Lomé costs 5 Euros A nights lodging for one person in the foyer at Adeta costs 3 Euros NB : - Participants pay an extra minimum sum of 2 Euros: - Rooms are left no later than midday. However, in the case of problems or worries in respect of their luggage can negotiate with the FAGAD manager of his representative. - whose work site necessitates a means of transport, can have the use of bicycle if he asks for one. Its use is limited exclusively for operations within the FAGAD programme and must not be used outside the limits of authorized use, including the geographic limits. If there is any misunderstanding on this programme, the final decision rests with FAGAD. The participant undertakes to remain with the family identified to welcome him by FAGAD for whole duration of the programme. In the contrary case, the volunteer undertakes to pay to FAGAD the amount envisaged for restaurant facilities, lodging, and supervision, in other words 11 Euros a day. Only a written agreement between the partner and the volunteer could allow the latter to change the family lodging him without additional expenses. Revised 22 January 2016 Permanent Secretary
