ACI Costa Rica is a non-profit NGO that promotes and runs programs of intercultural learning and international volunteering with young people from all corners of the world, guiding them in their participation in social and ecological projects and helping them to gain new perspectives of the world. In Costa Rica we run several different volunteering programs: sending and receiving, short-term and long-term, for groups and for individuals. We are an active member of ICYE – International Cultural Youth Exchange – a federation of NGOs with its headquarters in Berlin, Germany, and representation on five continents through its partner organizations and committees. ICYE has been declared an International Peace Messenger by the United Nations for its contributions to intercultural learning.

Public school in cooperation with the University of Costa Rica, the school collaborates in pedagogical subjects,
innovation and investigation, psychology, nursery and orientation processes.

Volunteer tasks:

• Supporting the teachers in class in general
• Playing games with the children
• Develop workshops for the children
• Helping with the preparation of educational materials
• In addition to English classes, the volunteers can give some classes of their mother language.
  

San José, the capital of Costa Rica, is a dynamic city surrounded by verdant mountains. It is known for its fascinating museums, such as the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, and its colonial architecture. The city offers a lively atmosphere with local markets and cafés. As the country's cultural and economic center, San José is an ideal base from which to explore Costa Rica's natural wonders.

Minimum participation of 8 weeks.

It will be necessary to have at least a basic level of Spanish to apply for a social project. Volunteers can sign up to our Spanish course for preparing before starting the project.
