About the local hosting organization

With more than 14,000 employees, the "Internationaler Bund (IB)" is one of the largest service providers in youth, social and educational work in Germany. It supports children, young people, adults and seniors in leading a self-responsible life - regardless of their origin, religion or ideology. Its guiding principle "Menschsein stärken" ("Strengthening humanity") is the motivation and orientation for its employees. The "Internationaler Bund (IB)" was founded in 1949. In its youth community organizations, it accommodated tens of thousands of young people without parents, homes or jobs, educated them and showed them new perspectives. The group's headquarters are in Frankfurt am Main. IB Mitte gGmbH für Bildung und soziale Dienste (for Education and Social Services) (IB Mitte gGmbH) is a non-profit subsidiary of the registered association and employs more than 2,300 people in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Every month, more than 17,000 children, young people, adults and senior citizens are supported in 5 regions. IB Mitte gGmbH offers almost all of the IB Group's business areas, with educational support, child development and education vocational preparation, vocational orientation, vocational rehabilitation and work with senior citizens being our core business areas. We employ more than 2,300 people, including 1,750 educational staff.

Presentation of the program

The Internationaler Bund (IB) is one of Germany’s largest service providers in youth, social, and educational work. As a volunteer, you will support our international EU projects and gain insights into project management and intercultural cooperation. Your tasks: - Support with administrative and organizational work - Assist in preparing project meetings and events - Help with communication and documentation - Welcome and support international guests and participants Gain valuable insights into international project work, improve your skills, and develop intercultural competences in a friendly and motivated team!

About the accommodation

You are provided with a furnished apartment in Meißen, 30 minutes with the train to the office in Dresden Mitte. The volunteers will receive a meal allowance as well as a pocket money per month. Moreover, a transport ticket will be provided to the volunteer.

About the leisure

All participants must participate in two mandatory ESC seminars during their project: On-Arrival and Mid-Term Training. These are opportunities to meet volunteers from other countries, gain understanding of the EU values and reflect on the ongoing project. The volunteers will also get to know other volunteers in regular meetings.

The Participant profile: Your profile: - Interest in international cooperation and EU projects - Working level of English (other languages an asset) - Open-minded, communicative, and motivated - Basic knowledge of MS Office and willingness to learn In addition, we value willingness to travel as well as curiosity to discover Europe and grow through intercultural experiences.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
