About the local hosting organization

Fundación VASE (Voluntariado para la Ayuda Social del Ecuador) is a non-profit organization, created in 2008. We work to strengthen intercultural relations, promote volunteer social aid and inspire the commitment of a global citizenship.
We believe in a world full of solidarity, social and personal development, as well as respect for diversity. Through volunteering we build new generations with values dedicated to improving global social conditions.
Fundación VASE is the only member in Ecuador of the ICYE (International Cultural Youth Exchange) federation. ICYE is an international non-governmental organization with more than 70 years of experience in promoting youth activity and global citizenship. Today ICYE is a federation with more than 40 national committees in America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

Presentation of the program

Aims of the project:

CEPAM aims to improve the social situation and quality of life of women, as well as contributing to the development of principles and policies that promote equal opportunities for women in the social, political, and economic spheres. CEPAM is a self-sustainable institution, specialized in defending the human rights of diverse women through the different stages of their lives.

Project´s activities:

Our services include: training activities in gender themes, prevention of violence, empowerment and employability; legal services; psychological services / crisis intervention; and social services. Areas of work for volunteers: communication and marketing, fundraising, organizational image.

Depend on volunteer skills:
- Share CEPAM’s activities through social media
- Help develop / update the webpage
- Train CEPAM team members in use of social media
- Design social media campaigns for: fundraising, volunteering, and for specific themes including gender violence, femicide, working with youth, ‘masculinities’ and commemoration of important dates
- Create English content for websites.
- Map out and create a database of potential ally non-profit organizations in other countries
- Develop information, content and project profiles for potential donors
- Assist CEPAM in developing new sources of cooperation
- Eventually translate documents (Spanish/English)

Requirements

Volunteers should be interested in and adhere to principles of gender equality / social inclusion. Spanish proficiency is preferable. Both men and women are welcome. Preferable if volunteers have their own computers. One volunteer should have general computer, communication, marketing and social media skills. A second volunteer should ideally have experience in or have studied social sciences or politics, and be interested in themes of development and cooperation.

Extra information

Participation fees from January 2025 to May 2026:
- 4 weeks: 500 €
- Add 125 € for each additional week.
