Presentation of the program

This project is 16 days long group volunteering program in Transylvania, Romania where you will have the chance for: - Service Learning: developing team spirit and teamwork while working in groups in favor of the local community and environment (building outdoor furniture from Euro pallets, renewing hiking routes, rehabilitation of our mountain hut, creative work) - Discovering the natural beauty of Transylvania/Romania and reconnecting with nature - Building solidarity among the volunteers and local youngsters - Developing key competencies (personal-, social-, civic skills, and competencies) through outdoor challenges (expedition, canoeing, climbing) - Having fun with other young people from EU For more details, consult the info letter: https://outwardboundromania.sharepoint.com/:b:/s/Projects/IQAv64FVjCudQpxeNWJa_K78AU9INJqs_X6tR1VjEiygLuI?e=55Hg74 For registration, please contact us via EYP and fill out the registration form (link in the infopack).

About the accommodation

Accommodation and food will be provided in the Outward Bound Youth Center in Sovata. You will sleep in 3-5-bedded rooms with common bathrooms. The food will be prepared by our kitchen staff and served 3 times a day. During the expedition, you will sleep outside in shelters or in a mountain hut and you will cook from the provided ingredients. You should by your travel tickets before the program and OBR will reimburse the travel costs during the program according to your travel documents and the amount approved by the project. Requirements

The Participant profile: We are looking for you if: - you are aged between 18-30 - you are a citizen or resident in an EU country - you are interested to live, work and develop together with other young people from Europe - you like working with woods - you like the nature and being outdoor, facing challenges - you are able to understand and speak English - you are eager to discover the natural beauty of Transylvania/Romania

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
