About the local hosting organization
POLITES Association is a non-governmental organization that came into existence in 2002 with its primary mission concentrated on promoting active citizenship among children, youth and adults, mainly through voluntary work and non-formal education. By organizing social, cultural, civic events, actions, projects and by the Association triggers a debate on issues of social life that are important and topical for the local society. We systematically implement such programs as: running the Regional Volunteer Center, the Elder Brother Elder Sister Program, the First Aid Program in the lessons, Your Voice. We are one of the founding organizations of the West Pomeranian NGO Federation and one of the founders of the Szczecin Center for the Support of Non-Governmental Organizations SECTOR3. We work in many areas with non-governmental organizations and public institutions located in Szczecin and the region, i.e. the City Hall of Szczecin, the Secretariat for Youth of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, schools, community centres, etc. We are active on European level and European voluntary service since 2003 and during this time we have sent, hosted and coordinated many European volunteers . Through the implementation of international projects, we enable young people from other countries to get to know Poland, its inhabitants and their culture, and we give the opportunity to volunteer in a Polish non-governmental organization or public institution.

At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
