Presentation of the program

2 volunteers of the House of Europe will prepare workshops for schools and youth organisations about the European Union, including the foreign languages and cultures beginning from primary school to high school. The volunteers will also be able to promote environmental problems, digital transition, fight against discrimination and democracy by creating workshops. Furthermore, he/and she will be an Ambassador of the EU and international mobility (presenting the programme the ESC to youth, such as Erasmus+, DFJW/OFAJ, etc.). Every year we celebrate the Europe's Day, Christmas in Europe organize next events (debates, conferences, etc.). The volunteers will be working together with the team to develop those events and the European projects. He/and she will also work on communication tasks (social networks, website, create posts). Furthermore, the volunteers will be asked to create his/and her own animations and activities about his/and her country and culture.

About the accommodation

Volunteers will receive pocket and food money at the beginning of each month. Accommodation will be in a youth dormitory called Habitat Jeunes Laval. You will be hosted in a fully equipped apartment by sharing it with one another European volunteer. Each volunteer is having private room. Volunteers have the possibility to cook in the apartments or to eat in the canteen of Habitat Jeunes. Every evening Habitat Jeunes dormitory offers animations for the inhabitants (sport evenings, cultural evening, games etc.) Transportation from home country to Laval and return will be paid up.

About the leisure

National Agency in France proposes an arrival training and a mid-term training with other volunteers. At your arrival, you will get a training with the House of Europe to get all the necessary information to put in place animations about Europe and you will have a tutor to guide you through your project.

Requirements

The Participant profile: - Interest in animation and in working with children; - Convinced in the European Union project and interest about EU news; - Interest in promoting EU, interculturality, diversity, international mobility; - Interest in promoting European priorities like : environnement, digital transition, fight against discrimination and democracy; - Team work; - Open-minded and curious; - French beginner minimum; - Motivated to work in a multicultural environment.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
