About the local hosting organization

Nevo Parudimos Association it’s a nonprofit apolitical organization which was founded by a group of teachers, Roma activists and Roma students from Caras-Severin county, in the south-west of Romania in 2008. The aim of the Nevo Parudimos association is to decrease the economic, social, educational and cultural differences in the society. Objectives of the Nevo Parudimos association are: - To develop activities which promote democracy; - To promote tolerance, diversity and equal chances in the society; - To create community development programs to fight against prejudices towards Roma people; - To increase the organizational capacity of Roma people; - To help Roma communities to develop their own competences and abilities to solve problems; - To develop professional, social, cultural, economic activities and civic commitment. Our activities are split in more fields like: education, culture, social work, community development, human rights, youth work and volunteering, as well as specialized internships for students of Social Work department in Eftimie Murgu University. In the youth work field our activities are in most cases connected with the other activities of the NGO.

Presentation of the program

The volunteers will be divided into three teams: The Environmental Team will be engaged in cleaning initiatives, environmental protection campaigns, and organizing non-formal activities for children during the summer camp. The Painting Team will focus on painting walls in a local kindergarten. The Media Team, consisting of 5 members, will be responsible for managing social media accounts and creating promotional materials. In addition, volunteers will actively participate in local festivals, concerts, and cultural events. Their involvement will encompass preparation, promotion, cleaning, and manning our stand during these events. We invite you on our instagram for further information: @nevo_parudimos

Extra information

We have planned and organized team-building activities. These activities are designed to foster camaraderie, enhance communication and strengthen the bonds among team members. By engaging in these team-building exercises at the outset, we aim to create a positive and collaborative environment, setting the foundation for a successful and cohesive team throughout the duration of the project.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
