Presentation of the program

The project will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, from September 2026 to August 2027 and will be hosted by Amazonas. Amazonas is an organization dedicated to providing support and fostering positive change through learning, movement, innovative methods, and new experiences. Within the project, three volunteer positions are available, offering a unique opportunity to become part of a dynamic and impactful team. POSITION 1: Media volunteer - TIK-TOK channel of Amazonas (two posts per week) Taking photos and creating videos of Amazonas activities and events POSITION 2: Leader of non-formal activities Language lessons of native language (of volunteer) and conversational English Organization of workshops Promotion of mobility at events in Zagreb Writing reports/blog articles a POSITION 3: Assistant on social projects Participation in capoeira training and capoeira workshops for children Preparing and implementing workshops for children on the topic of embracing diversity

About the accommodation

During the project, volunteers will live in a shared apartment with other volunteers (maximum 4 people in total). The accommodation includes shared rooms – bedrooms (with a maximum of two volunteers per room), a living/dining room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Each month, volunteers will receive 500 EUR for pocket money and food. Accommodation and living expenses (like bills) are covered by the project. Travel costs (for flights or buses) depend on the volunteer's country of origin. Volunteers will also receive public transportation tickets for local commuting.

About the leisure

During the project volunteers will have: pre-departure training organized by their supporting organization, on-arrival and mid-term training organized by National Agency in Croatia. Depending on the volunteer position, Amazonas will organize education and training for the implementation of activities within that position.

Requirements

The Participant profile: POSITION 1: Media volunteer We are looking for a volunteer who: • has interest in using digital tools • has knowledge of using a camera • has good skills in taking photos and making videos • is creative • has a tendency for dynamic work POSITION 2: Leader of non-formal activities We are looking for volunteer who: • is interest in conducting workshops and educations • has knowledge of conducting non-formal workshops • is creative • has good communication skills • has tendency for dynamic work POSITION 3: Assistant on social projects We are looking for a volunteer who: • is prone to sports activities and is interested in capoeira • has interest in working with children and has previous experience in working with children (does not have to be through formal education, can also be through summer camps, scouting activities) • has good communication skills • has a tendency for dynamic work

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
