Presentation of the program

This volunteer project unites 12 European participants in a heritage restoration chantier in Ille-et-Vilaine from July 3 to july 28. Over three weeks, the group will work on restoring historic buildings, focusing on masonry work on an old wall, guided by a professional technical leader. The mission emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural heritage through hands-on restoration. It also promotes ecological transition by encouraging volunteers to adopt sustainable practices, such as reducing air travel and supporting local consumption, fostering a more eco-responsible approach to collective life. The project values the strength of community life, emphasizing teamwork, shared experiences, and cultural exchange with local residents. Alongside work, volunteers will have time for regional exploration, enriching their understanding of local heritage and fostering meaningful connections within the group and the community.

At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
