Presentation of the program
The Youth Info Center in Marmande, a semi-rural town near Bordeaux, is looking for one dynamic volunteer for the Sociocultural and Communication mission (September to August 2025). The ideal volunteer is enthusiastic, enjoys public speaking, and is eager to share their culture through creative and community activities.
Tasks include:
- Supporting workshops (technology, arts, languages, cooking) and cultural events
- Promoting initiatives like the "Summer neighborhoods"
- Managing social media and creating multimedia content to share an intercultural perspective.
The volunteer will develop a personal project and promote European mobility.
French courses will help with integration.
This mission suits individuals who thrive on communication and creativity and love simple rural lifestyle.

About the accommodation
The volunteer will share a fully furnished flat with one other volunteer. The flat is well-equipped, featuring a private bedroom, a shared bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen. A bike will be provided for easy access to the town center. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance for personal expenses, as well as a food allowance. Special support will be provided to encourage participation in sports, cultural or community activities.
Marmande offers a relaxed, semi-rural lifestyle with ample open spaces. Volunteers can enjoy simple pleasures such as sports, cinema, and local dining.
About the leisure
Volunteers will participate in seminars available throughout their stay to meet peers and learn about ESC
They will gain insight into municipal operations their missions.
Regular follow-ups with the project coordinator will support the Youthpass certificate.
Volunteers will also receive training in presentation and facilitation skills, with a focus on oral communication and intercultural engagement.
French language courses will be provided to help them integrate and improve communication.
A local mentor will offer additional support with integration and making friends.
Requirements
The Participant profile: We are looking for a young person aged 18-30 from an EU country. The ideal volunteer is sociable, eager to share their culture, and interested in the French language. They should enjoy a peaceful, rural lifestyle, appreciating simple pleasures like outdoor activities, local dining, and community events. Prior knowledge of French isn’t required, but motivation to learn is essential to connect with the community. The volunteer should be open-minded, ready to engage with locals, enthusiastic about integrating into a small-town environment, and comfortable speaking in public to share their experiences and ideas with different audiences.
