Presentation of the program

Fattoria L'Arca is an organic farm located in the south of Italy. It offers a retreat for guests who wish to connect with nature and enjoy locally grown, organic produce. L'Arca is looking for volunteers to assist in farming activities and with visitors. Volunteers will be involved in tasks such as: working in fields and in green houses, cleaning green spaces and animal areas, planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables, digging soil, and assisting the cook. Important: physical work is required. In addition, there will be creative activities like pottery workshops, basket weaving, and a workshop on how to make “tortelli”. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to engage in outdoor activities, including rafting and beach cleaning. Volunteers will work 5 days a week, approximately 30 hours per week, mostly in the mornings during farming hours (from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm).

About the accommodation

Pocket money: 17€ per day (the traveling expenses, visa and insurance costs are NOT included). Accommodation: Triple room with an inner bathroom Meals: Breakfast (italian sweet style) + Lunch + Dinner (meals are prepared by the chef of L'Arca with a fixed menu and mainly farm ingredients). Vacation: 4 days fixed on specific dates that will be announced by the organization.

About the leisure

On arrival training: first 4 days - organized by the coordinating organization Associazione Joint. Final evaluation: 2 days - Youthpass Certificate will be delivered.

Requirements

The Participant profile: The profile of an ideal volunteer is: - age between 18 and 30; - resident or citizen of an EU country (including Italy); - motivated and eager to learn; - adaptable and open-minded; - able to work in a team; - proactive and respectful of common rules; - ready to do physical or manual work outdoors and “get hands dirty”; - willing to work early hours (starting at 6 AM). - positive, peaceful attitude; - flexible to possible changes.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment.
