Presentation of the program
People & Planet Project is a transnational volunteering project to promote solidarity, community, and environment sustainable development. The project will start on October/25 and will last 7 months until May/26. We invite 4 volunteers from EU, partner countries, and program countries.
Volunteers will take part in several activities in line with ESC principals and goals; Educational activities with youth and children; Global Citizenship Education activities and workshops; Implementing upcycling, restoration and recycling activities in RS’s atelier– sharing knowledge, skills and experience involving local people in the process; Support forest preservation tasks and tree planting in the mountain; Support and animation activities for elderly people; Support activities in kindergarten and schools; Support activities in the street animals shelter; Help in logistics tasks of the organization (collecting food campaigns, collecting furniture, sorting clothes, etc).
About the accommodation
The house where volunteers will live is located close to the Rosto Solidário’s office, in Rua da Relva nº 18. The house is equipped with a big kitchen, four bathrooms, five rooms (each to be shared by two people if it’s needed), a big living room downstairs with sofas, a television and table.The house is equipped with the household appliances needed. The house may be shared by participants from more than one international project.
Travel/food/Pocket money -The project covers the volunteers' travel expenses according to the program rules and limits defined in ESC guide.
About the leisure
Volunteers will participate in specially prepared training, such as on-arrival and mid-term training.
During the project volunteers will be able to count on the support of the project coordinator and other organization staff, whose experience can be very helpful.
In addition, we’ll provide a series of training sessions that will prepare you to take on this challenge
Requirements
The Participant profile: Reliable, proactive, dynamic, open-minded, and flexible people, with problem-solving and good interpersonal communication skills.
Considering the tasks that will be assigned, the volunteer must have good mood and willingness to accomplish them.
An intermediate level of English is highly recommended.
Volunteers’ willingness to learn Portuguese is also a key factor in the selection process, although a previous knowledge it’s not necessarily required.
We can host all candidates from Program and Partner Countries.
