About the local hosting organization
Coordinadora Infantil y Juvenil de Tiempo Libre de Vallecas is a nonprofit association created by organizations and associations working with children and youth at risk of social exclusion in Vallecas district in the souht-east of Madrid, Spain. It has been declared PUBLIC UTILITY in 2001. Coordinadora gathers 22 associations , 500 volunteers and more than 2,000 children and youngsters are involved in their projects. The mission of the Coordinadora is to strength and encourage the networking of social organizations in Vallecas, promoting social transformation and betting for the development of children, youth and their families. Our values are: Participation / public awareness / strengthening the social environment.Independence.Transparency.Consistency.Pluralism.Sustainability.Cooperation versus competitionOur main working areas are:The Leisure time, as socialization space for children.The Leisure time, as socialization space for youngsters.The family, as the first socialization space.Volunteerism.Strengthening networks: common workspaces.European programmes.Coordinadora encourages participation in Europe as motivation and learning for young people, volunteers and workers through projects in education and youth non formal education like DAPHNE, Eurochild, Youht in Action, Grundtvig, Leonardo, Erasmus+.... One of the projects of Coordinadora is Europa Joven Madrid (www.europajoven.org) in cooperation with Madrid City Hall. It is an space offered by the City of Madrid conceived as an information center, Training and Promotion of European youth participation. It offers counselling and information service to all youngsters who want to go abroad to study, work, travel… One of the main activity is to promote mobility through the EVS European Voluntary Service by sending and hosting volunteers every year.We participate in the Eurodesk network as local desk , by providing information to young people of Madrid offering access to employment , mobility, practices , training opportunities in Europe helping them to find whatever they need to know to go abroad.
Presentation of the program
Coordinadora Infantil y Juvenil de Tiempo Libre de Vallecas is a nonprofit association created by organizations and associations working with children and youth at risk of social exclusion in Vallecas district and Ciudad Lineal,in the south-east of Madrid, Spain. Volunteer’s activity will be developed within 7 of our entities: The associations have in common the community work and social intervention that they do in the city through different educational projects aimed to children, teenagers, young adults, and families. Tasks of the volunteers will be related to support the daily work of the associations such as their tutoring program, leisure time activities, workshops, and summer camps. The volunteers will also support the office of Europa Joven Madrid, an information and cultural center that promotes European mobility and projects. About the accommodation
Volunteer will live in a shared flat with other volunteers or with locals in Madrid. This will be arranged by the organization unless the volunteer prefers to organize it by himself/herself/themselves.Volunteer will receive 200€ per month as food allowance, 6€/day as pocket money, money for the monthly transportation card and the accommodation money. Everything will be provided at the beginning of the month by check or bank transfer.
About the leisure
Volunteers will attend the two trainings offered by the National Agency: On Arrival Training and Midterm Evaluation. Volunteers will attend other training courses offered by the hosting organization for the development of their volunteering experience.
Requirements
The Participant profile: We are looking for a highly motivated person to work with people at risk of social exclusion, children, teenagers, and families in an intercultural environment. Spanish knowledge is welcome.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
