About the local hosting organization

ANTER (Asociatia Nationala de Sprijinire a Tineretului Ecologist din Romania) was founded on 04 october 2008 in Craiova, Romania. Its goal is to promote the development of civic consciousness in general and eco-civic consciousness particulary, but also to sustain the young people involvement in the civic life.
ANTER is a totally independent association which brings together young people with ages between 18 and 35 years, from different areas without distinction of nationality, sex, religion, political and religious beliefs. ANTER has lot of members and more than 100 volunteers which are interested in solving environmental problems and beeing involved in civic activities. Also, we had different activities regarding intercultural exchanges between people who belong to different cultures (roma, polish, bulgarian, greec, turkish, french, etc). Also, in all of our projects we involved fewer opportunities youngsteers and some of them became members of ANTER Craiova.
Our association has a good capacity of implementing projects, starting with our experience in all the actions of YIA and now for implementing Erasmus+projects. We have an well equiped office and good logistic to manage the implementation. Also, we have strong local partnerships and also international ones that are facilitating the implementation of projects.

Presentation of the program

**Create a sustainable and therapeutic urban garden within the Juvenile Detention Center in Craiova, fostering environmental awareness, personal development, and social inclusion among young detainees. Developing the range of activities specific to ecology in the community, increasing the commitment to the environment of young people **Use gardening as a tool for stress relief, emotional healing, and self-expression, enhancing the mental well-being of young detainees ***Please note that working inside a juvenile detention center require a special code of conduct to ensure safety, professionalism and a positive impact , following institution rules and procedures

About the accommodation

Volunteers will be accommodated in rented apartments with shared bathroom and kitchen max 2 in same room divided by gender. The location will be equipped for basic needs, kitchen essentials, laundry facilities, wifi, please note that we cannot accommodate volunteers who prioritize high living standards, a monthly local public transport pass will be provided for each volunteer. 

About the food

Volunteers will receive an monthly food allowance of 6 euros/day and 4euros/day as pocket money at the end of each month in lei national currency. 

Requirements

The Participant profile: * Aged 18–30 year old * Ability to buy the travel tickets (at arrival reimbursement will be made) * Fluent at a medium level in English * Motivated to take part in the project and showing involvement during the selection process * Able to assume the tasks and rules of the project

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
