About the local hosting organization

Our organization, the Youth Affairs of Pori city Education Office, is a local public body and organizes the youth work services provided by the city. Our staff consists of 16 full time youth workers with addition of 1-2 project workers depending on ongoing projects. Our leading idea in Youth affairs: Through youth work and by affecting the living conditions of young people we support their coping skills and social empowerment to create requirements for a good life. We implement this idea by striving to offer young people (13-29 -year-olds) in Pori the equal chance to plan and take part in free time activities in a safe environment with guidance and support from professional youth workers and safe adults. Our main activities are open youth house activities in six different youth houses, specialized youth work (for youth with difficulties in life management), online youth work, school youth work, youth participation and international youth work. These activities include small group activities, a variety of freetime events, individual guidance, camps and street patrolling.

Presentation of the program

This project aims to foster a positive international atmosphere in all the activities provided by youth services in the city of Pori. We want our volunteers, youth workers, and youngsters to develop an interest in pressing matters like climate change and inclusion while enjoying their time participating in free time activities and workshops. The main tasks will take place either at open youth houses or youth workshops. These working methods are specific and explained further on our website, so read carefully. TO APPLY FOR THIS PROJECT, you must apply in two steps. Apply through this site AND fill in our own google forms application, where you need to upload your cv and motivational video.
