About the local hosting organization
Europejskie Forum Mlodziezy (EFM) is an independent non-governmental organization founded in 1994 by the youth of the Ziemia Kłodzka and operating since 1995 at local, regional, national and international level. In the circle of our activities we involve both very active young people and less enterprising people living in small towns and rural areas with difficult conditions to realize their ambitions and plans.
The activities of EFM focus on organizing conferences, trainings and seminars, both national and international, youth exchanges, ESC, European voluntary service and on employee mobility projects in the field of Vocational Education and Training, as well as practical work experience. We work in the field of non-formal education for over 20 years.
EFM employees are involved in supporting young people through non-formal educational methods, in particular those from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as cooperation with organizations, both local and national as well as from different countries in the field of training for youth and youth workers, EVS, seminars, conferences, youth exchanges and practical job experience (Job shadowing) for those working with youth, study visits and professional mobility of adults. From 2011-2014, EFM hosted interns from France, as part of the Leonardo Da Vinci program and trainees in the civil service from France and Italy. Furthermore, EFM carries professional internships on the basis of VET program, in its office.
EFM cooperates with organizations from abroad as well as with Polish NGOs as well as with junior and senior high schools, public bodies and local government. In 2011, Europejskie Forum Mlodziezy received a special distinction of the President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski for activities carried out for European Voluntary Service (non-formal education). In 2014, a representative of the Europejskie Forum Mlodziezy was invited to participate in the Volunteer Gala for national and international organizations dealing with humanitarian aid in Lima, Peru.
Currently, our organisation is involved in strategic partnership projects which aim to prepare training platforms for youth workers working with disadvantaged youth and wanting to engage young people in mobility projects, as well as projects of capacity building as hosting and sending organisation. This happens due to our over 20 years of experience in non-formal education and work with disadvantaged youth.
The aims of Europejskie Forum Mlodziezy are the following:
- Provide soft skills and other important skills to youngsters;
- Promote the entrepreneurship and employability of youngsters;
- Promote human values and the values of Europe;
- Provide youngsters with fewer opportunities equal access to knowledge and labour market;
- Strengthen the relations with organisations from other countries in order to share skills and knowledge as well as to improve the access of youngsters to international mobility projects;
EFM has managed to build a strong network of partners in Europe and together we aim at encouraging youth work, youth volunteering and mobility through international projects. Our partnership includes non-governmental and non-profit organisations from 28 european countries as well as many organisations and institutions from countries all over the world (Africa, Asia, Caribbean and Latin America).
Europejskie Forum Młodzieży is an accredited organization, recognized by the Polish National Agency of the “Erasmus+ Programme” for sending, hosting and coordinating EVS projects and working since 2001 with the programs "Youth", "Youth in action" and "Erasmus plus".
