Presentation of the program

St Joseph high-school and St Christophe primary school is part of the Lasallian private education network. The volunteer will be integrated into the teaching teams & the school life service of both primary and high schools and will be able to develop: - Activities: organization of cultural projects and participation into class projects in collaboration with the school teams, in accordance with the teacher’s needs and volunteer’s interests - Support and follow up of the school mobility projects with the mentor in charge of the international cooperation (english workshop...) - Support and investment in the actions of promotion of Erasmus+ programs and European Solidarity Corps - Support for pupils and students in school subjects regarding the volunteer’s disciplinary skills. - Accompany the children on class excursions and cultural activities - Organization of activities for the children in the primary school The volunteer takes part in a group project with the other volunteers

About the accommodation

The ESC will take place in Lorient (60 000 inhabitants). Lorient and its suburbs are the 3rd biggest in Brittany after RENNES and BREST. Lorient is located in Britanny (west coast) and looks to the sea. The universities gather 6.500 students. Accomodation : The volunteer will have its own bedroom and share an appartement with 2 other volunteers. The volunteer will have lunch in school during working days and will receive a monthly budget for food (+ monthly pocket money) to prepare his/her own meals. (S)he will have a bicycle and a card for the local bus services.

About the leisure

To all ESC volunteers of our organisation is given the chance to participate to on-arrival training and med-term evaluation organised by the French National Agency for Erasmus + Youth. We are welcoming 5 other volunteers in Lorient. The volunteers are expected to take part into a pre-departure training organized by their sending organisations before their arrival. The volunteer will have access to the online linguistic support (EU Academy).

The Participant profile: We would like to welcome a volunteer willing to work with children and youth, having an interest in interculturalilty and to be curious and creative in his ability to participate in the life of the institution.
