Presentation of the program
Les Grands Larges residence welcomes young people aged 16 to 30 and aims to socialize young people through housing.
Within the structure, with the animation team, the volunteer participates in various activities, with 2 working evenings/week.
- Implementation of actions to raise awareness among young people about sustainable development (sorting of waste in housing, responsible consumption, soft mobility, energy savings, responsible food...)
This theme is the main topic of the mission.
The volunteer will also develop individual & collective projects according to their interests :
·cuisine workshops
·cultural discoveries (sharing his/her culture is also a big part of the mission)
·thematic evenings
·exhibitions
·creation of media (ex: tiktok @agoraservices)
·European citizenship awareness
·Link between generations
+ collective project with volunteers hosted in Lorient
About the accommodation
ESC will take place in Lorient, city of 60 000 inhabitants (3rd biggest in Brittany after Rennes and Brest). Lorient looks to the sea and its universities gather 6.500 students. The city is 1h40 from Rennes and Brest, 3h30 from Paris. The volunteer will receive a monthly budget for food to prepare meals + access to the residence restaurant on working day in addition to monthly pocket money. The volunteer will have a bicycle and will have a local bus card. Volunteer will he hosted in a youth residence, in a shared flat with 2 other volunteers.
About the leisure
To all ESC volunteers is given the opportunity to participate to on-arrival training and mid-term evaluation organised by the French National Agency. They also participate in a regional seminar. The volunteers are expected to take part into a pre-departure training organized by their sending organisations before their arrival.
During this project, volunteer will be able to develop communication/organisational/animation/teamwork skills through activities directed to local youth.
Requirements
The Participant profile: The volunteer´s profile is a young person with interests in sustainable development, interculturality and social matters, interested in the organization of events and workshops - agreeing to communicate in public - and willing to work with youth. Volunteer should be available for the whole volunteering period.
