Presentation of the program

Are you into cultural and artistic expression? Do you like music, films, books or other types of art, talking about them and engaging young people in discussions and debates? This project might be the opportunity you are looking for. Schroedinger's Culture(al) Dillemma as project aims to provide cultural content for young people to the enlarged community of Izvoarele commune. Curba de Cultură focuses on teenagers and youth development and together with a team of volunteers we would like to find out what is culture for young people in rural areas? and how can they reach for it? The foreseen activities are, but not limited to: - educational activities for children and young people in the area in our youth centres or in collaboration with other institutions - organizing events and representations in the commune - organizing cinema nights and outdoor cinema nights - organizing workshops and activities on interculturality - support the organization of Ruralympics Festival

About the accommodation

- reimbursement of travel costs up to 180/275/360 euro in the end of the stay (or you can travel green and the budget is higher, ask us for details) - accommodation in a traditional house together with the rest of the volunteers, taking care of the house (cleaning, cutting the gras in the garden, making fire) and living independent - food allowance and pocket money in order to purchase all the needed things for your independent life. - local transport bus permits and car when needed for activities

About the leisure

We are providing a variety of trainings and workshops during the service such as but not limited to: - mentor support for your learning process - language training - coordination, materials for activities and equipment - task-related trainings such as teambuilding, health and security, event management, basic youthwork and group dynamics, communication etc - any other trainings that our organization holds and that they are suitable for volunteers

Requirements

The Participant profile: - is between 18 and 30 years old - is available for 5 months of mobility - is motivated to do international volunteering - is strongly motivated to live and work in rural area - is interested in learning a different European language - is motivated to work with children and young people - is interested in creating cultural content (dance, music, theatre, film etc), not necessary to have talents in the field - is motivated to develop new competences and to learn about community development - has at least basic English communication skills, spoken and written Note: we are looking for 1 more volunteer to work in the already existing team.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
