Presentation of the program

Our daily center Lumea Lui Pinocchio has the main mission to support disadvantaged children by offering them a safe space. Every day, the children benefit from non-formal educational activities, help with their homework, as well as a warm lunch and snack. Most of the children come from the Roma community, where families often face high levels of illiteracy and unemployment. This activity encourages children to engage in sports and movement, fostering mental, physical, and emotional development. The program includes indoor and outdoor activities to promote well-being and social skills like teamwork and communication. Tasks: Organize Sports & Dance Activities Encourage Teamwork Adapt to Skill Levels Promote Inclusivity Monitor Progress Assist the children with their homework Support the local staff and the other volunteers to foster a supportive, inclusive environment for the children.

Extra information

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
