Presentation of the program
Our daily center Lumea Lui Pinocchio has the main mission to support disadvantaged children by offering them a safe space. Every day, the children benefit from non-formal educational activities, help with their homework, as well as a warm lunch and snack.
Most of the children come from the Roma community, where families often face high levels of illiteracy and unemployment.
This activity encourages children to engage in sports and movement, fostering mental, physical, and emotional development. The program includes indoor and outdoor activities to promote well-being and social skills like teamwork and communication.
Tasks:
Organize Sports & Dance Activities
Encourage Teamwork
Adapt to Skill Levels
Promote Inclusivity
Monitor Progress
Assist the children with their homework
Support the local staff and the other volunteers to foster a supportive, inclusive environment for the children.
About the accommodation
The volunteers will be lodged at an apartment specifically dedicated to their hosting. (max. 2 people/ room).
The apartment is very close to the Center Pinocchio.
Volunteers will be provided with monthly food allowance for their grocery shopping together with a pocket money of 4 Euro for each day of service.
About the leisure
The participant will engage in non formal education activities with the support of our teacher and other staff members.
The participant will also be in close contact with out mentor, to ensure that the experience matches his/her expectations.
The national agency is providing an On Arrival Training and a Mid-term evaluation.

The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
