About the local hosting organization
Sorgun Youth Organization was established to carry out activities on soscial, education, health and sports fields, to contribute to improving youth poicies, to enable solidarity and help among young people, to encourage their spirit of entrepreneurship, to help them gain knowledge and skills on such topics, to contribute to the disadvantaged young people like those who are disabled to be integrated into society.
Our organization which discovers the fact that the young people are the most important individuals and which aims to bring together the young people with different skills and create a great synergy and aims to enable young people to be involved in the society and enable the society to benefit from the young people more was established with the name “Sorgun Youth Organization” in the district Sorgun in 2014 Before our organization became a legal institute, it started with an informal group which was initiated with a few young people and managed to Access many young people in a very short time. Our organization which in time becomes a great asset by bringing together volunteers working for a divine purpose and involving many young people from different age groups, expands its impact and tries to increase the number of projects in which it is involved as partners actively.

Within the scope of this program, you will take part in activities related to sports, arts, education, environment, healthy lifestyles, and disaster awareness. You will gain new skills, meet people from different cultures, and have the opportunity to contribute to the community while developing yourself personally and professionally.

About the accommodation
Volunteers will stay in a shared apartment in Sorgun with double rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Accommodation is provided by SORGED, and volunteers will live with other ESC participants. Basic kitchen equipment and internet will be available. In line with ESC rules, volunteers will receive €6 per day for pocket money and €6 for food. Travel costs will be covered according to the ESC distance calculator and must be approved before purchasing tickets.
About the leisure
During the opportunity, volunteers will receive both orientation and topic-based trainings. At the beginning, an on-arrival training will be provided to introduce the project, the hosting organisation, safety rules, and local culture. Throughout the project, volunteers will take part in non-formal learning workshops on sports, healthy lifestyle, art, entrepreneurship, disaster management, environment, and youth work. In addition, they will join language support sessions, intercultural learning activities, and skills development trainings.

The Participant profile: General Qualifications: Culturally interested, creative, active, and open-minded Prone to teamwork, responsible, and open to innovation Able to communicate in English Solution-oriented, tolerant, organised, and compliant with organisational rules Special Interests and Experiences: Interested in sports, healthy living, arts, environment, climate change, entrepreneurship, disaster preparedness, cancer awareness, and personal development Knowledgeable about recycling, waste management, and environmental awareness or willing to learn in these areas Eager to learn and promote new sports Creative, active, open-minded, and team-oriented; willing to volunteer, take responsibility, and open to learning and innovation Willing to contribute to digital content creation processes (social media posts, photography, video production)
