About the local hosting organization

The non-governmental organization "Actio Catholica Patria" (A.C. Patria) is active in Kaunas since 1991 and offers social and cultural services for young people aged from 14 to 30 years. We consult and provide training to other organizations and individuals about volunteering and open youth work. Our main aim is to support young people in becoming responsible, self-confident, socially sensitive and active citizens. We strive to contribute to the development of the concept and the condition of volunteering in Lithuania; to provide social services to young people; to provide information, consultation and training to individuals and legal entities; and to help youngsters to integrate into the labor market. We work towards these aims in our four centers: The Volunteer Center, the Open Youth Center "Vartai", the Youth Empowerment Center "Kitaip" and the Methodical Center. The employees of A.C. Patria, are constantly improving/enriching activities to ensure the quality of services provided. We aim at being pro-active in the search of new forms of work using different methods in order to meet the social needs of youth of different age groups and correspond to the changes in our society.

Presentation of the program

*Representation and promotion of A.C. Patria on social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) *Creation and management of social media content (posts, stories, reels, videos, captions) *Development and maintenance of a social media content calendar and communication strategy *Promotion of A.C. Patria activities, volunteering opportunities, and events online *Design and implementation of online campaigns and promotional materials for social media *Engagement with online audience (responding to comments, messages, and building community presence) *Monitoring social media trends and adapting content to improve reach and visibility *Event photography and visual documentation of A.C. Patria activities and events for communication purposes *Support in other A.C. Patria activities when needed (events, initiatives, and daily organizational tasks) *Occasional assistance in documenting activities and events for online use (photos, short videos, storytelling) *Other activity

About the accommodation

The volunteer receives a private room while sharing an apartment with other volunteers, creating an international community. Travel costs are reimbursed, and the volunteer receives food and pocket money, as well as a monthly public transport ticket.

Requirements

The Participant profile: We are looking for a motivated and creative volunteer who is interested in social media, communication, and storytelling. The ideal participant is open-minded, responsible, and eager to learn how to create engaging digital content and promote activities online. The volunteer should have an interest in social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, and be willing to develop skills in content creation, photography, video editing, and online communication. No professional experience is required, but basic digital skills and creativity are an advantage. The volunteer should be ready to work both independently and in a team, and to contribute ideas for promoting A.C. Patria’s activities and volunteering opportunities.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
