Presentation of the program

The CPMGA is a feminist organization with over 40 years of experience. The volunteer involved in the area of rights defence will support these activities: supervising and monitoring of training services for women victims of violence and volunteers, provided by consultants, through the methodology proposed by CPMGA in 17 municipalities; systematizing the results of training processes aimed at women victims of violence or who work on violence prevention; collecting life stories of women who have suffered violence; monitoring and following up on replication processes carried out by women victims of violence in various municipalities, facilitating guidance and assistance in cases of violence against women and supporting legal protection processes for them; unifying information from allied organizations regarding work with women who are victims of violence. The main location for the activities will be CPMGA’s office in El Alto, with a weekly commitment of 30-40 hours excluding travel time.

About the accommodation

The accommodation will be shared with other volunteers, each having a private room with a lock. Utilities (water, gas, electricity, internet) are included. It is in a residential area of La Paz, which facilitates travel to the city of El Alto and ensures safety during the stay, while providing easy access to medical services, food and other essential services. La Paz is a vibrant and culturally rich city, offering numerous recreational spaces, traditional markets, restaurants. The office in El Alto can be reached by cable car or buses, with an approximate travel time of one hour.

About the leisure

The volunteer will develop skills in community facilitation, participatory training techniques, data collection and analysis. They will gain valuable experience working closely with women victims of violence and learn about feminist organization practices, deepening their understanding of feminist approaches within the Bolivian context. Semi-annual online meetings with other project volunteers are planned as training spaces to share experiences, challenges, and best practices. Access will be provided to platforms such as OLS, GOT, and SALTO. Competencies will be certified with the Youthpass.
