Presentation of the program

CPMGA is a feminist organization with over 40 years of experience. The volunteer will support these activities: informing and guiding women and young people on SRHR in a gender-sensitive manner; supporting training processes on sexual and reproductive health, prevention of sexual violence, contraceptive methods, legal termination of pregnancy; facilitating community awareness and dialogue spaces to challenge taboos and promote access to health services; supporting youth and women’s activism and participation in public spaces; contributing to emblematic campaigns by developing educational materials and systematizing experiences and testimonies; providing logistical and methodological support for workshops, fairs, campaigns and other community-based SRHR activities; reviewing technical documents and participating in strategic planning to improve institutional impact. Activities will be based at CPMGA’s office in El Alto, with a commitment of 30–40 hours/week, excluding travel time.

About the accommodation

The accommodation will be shared with other volunteers, each having a private room with a lock. Utilities (water, gas, electricity, internet) are included. It is in a residential area of La Paz, which facilitates travel to the city of El Alto and ensures safety during the stay, while providing easy access to medical services, food and other essential services. La Paz is a vibrant and culturally rich city, offering numerous recreational spaces, traditional markets, restaurants. The office in El Alto can be reached by cable car or buses, with an approximate travel time of one hour.

About the leisure

The volunteer will develop knowledge in SRHR with a feminist and intersectional approach, skills in participatory training methodologies, ability to systematize information in diverse contexts, competencies in gender analysis, intercultural communication, teamwork, critical thinking and a strong commitment to human rights. Semi-annual online meetings with other project volunteers are planned as training spaces to share experiences, challenges and best practices. Access will be provided to platforms such as OLS, GOT and SALTO. All competencies will be certi-fied with the Youthpass.

Extra information

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
