About the local hosting organization
Presentation of the program
Jonzac is a small town of 4,000 inhabitants in western France, located in the Charente-Maritime department. The town offers facilities such as a cinema and an aquatic center. Bordeaux about 1 hour away by train.
Our vocational high school, labelled “High School for Health and Social Care Professions,” wel-comes around 200 students supported by a team of 20 teachers.
The school holds several labels: E3D, Euroscol, and CES. It offers the following diplomas:
• Vocational Baccalaureate in Personal Care, Support and Services (ASSP)
• CAP in Senior Citizens' Assistance (AAGA)
• CAP in Food Service Production and Service (PSR)
The school promotes a strong project-based approach, co-teaching, and digital skills develop-ment. Numerous projects focus on sustainable development, health, and prevention.
We would be delighted to welcome a volunteer and support their integration, while benefiting from their contribution to our European and intercultural openness.
About the accommodation
The European volunteers will be accommodated in furnished rooms (approx. 15 m² each) in an apartment separate from the high school, shared with language assistants. This ensures independence while living with other young people. A welcome kit will be provided. A self-service restaurant is available at a reasonable price, and a kitchen is accessible in the accommodation. The train station is 800 m away, with Bordeaux about 1 hour away. The beach is 40 km away.
About the leisure
The volunteers will support activities related to health, prevention, and well-being in collaboration with the school staff and nurse, including within the ULIS programme. They will contribute to student life (CVL, eco-delegates), promote engagement and environmental initiatives, and foster European citizenship and mobility awareness.
The volunteers will also participate in communication and media projects, support modern language activities, and assist in organising European events (Europe Day, Erasmus Days, Language Week).
Requirements
The Participant profile: The ideal candidates should demonstrate:
• A strong interest in youth and youth work

No specific qualifications are required to participate in this project, apart from a certain level of autonomy and the ability to integrate into a team. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
