Presentation of the program

Kaunas lagoon regional park directorate is a governmental organization established in 1992 with the purpose to preserve and keep Kaunas lagoon (man-made) unique nature: cliffs, outcrops, rare animal and plant species for future generations. We are responsible for managing regional infrastructure and control of people living in the regional park about keeping the environmental laws. We have 7 employees responsible for monitoring, inspection, educational activities, events and other activities. Our daily work varies from office to nature 🙂 Two different volunteering positions are available: 1) practical work ( fixing infrastructure, cutting bushes, grass, monitoring visitors, nature observation, counting numbers of animals, birds, plants). 2) working with kids and adults in the visitors center, and with the "Young ranger" circle (organizing activities for little kids) helping with monitoring nature, herb picking, sign making, taking photos and videos of daily activities.
