About the local hosting organization

Aktionszentrum Benediktbeuern is a youth educational centre of the German Province of the Salesians of Don Bosco. “Time for young people”: this principle of the Salesians of Don Bosco is our mission and, at the same time, our daily incentive. Our goal is: Discovering the creation together with young people, getting to know new things and giving them opportunities for further development – “today for tomorrow”, being together on the way. For our groups and guests we try to create an atmosphere in which young people feel that their sorrows and needs, their questions and answers are taken seriously. The youth educational centre Aktionszentrum understands its main mission in supporting young people’s life development. Target groups are young people and young adults. The focus of our work is on the field of non-formal youth education and the international youth work. Through this offers we convey personal, interpersonal, intercultural, ecological and political competences. 80% of the young people, who join our activities, are students of a “Mittelschule”. Aktionszentrum aims to reach this target group and cooperates with schools in Bavaria. Through our training programme (educational sessions, discussions, leisure time activities, sport, creative workshops) we want to strengthen these young people and give them a chance to develop their skills and competences.
