About the local hosting organization
Foundation “Cardenal Julio Terrazas” accompany cancer patients and their relatives throughout the department and help migrants with foreign migration formalities and provide support for victims of trafficking.
Presentation of the program
The project's main activities include:
- Providing individual attention in the office to help migrants with formalities and problems of victims of trafficking
- Accompanying productive units of migrant women doing crafts, painting and gastronomy
- Accompanying youth groups that help with paperwork for migrant students
- Accompanying family members or children of cancer patients, providing food and housing
- Organizing awareness events host of foreigners
The volunteer is expected to:
- Support the realization of events sensitivity
- Provide psychological and material assistance to the migrants, find shelter for patients and relatives of patients
- Support the attention office for migrants, patients and relatives
- Support activities in music and cultural diversity
- Support the project migrant women doing activities such as costume jewelry, painting and weaving
Requirements
Volunteers need to
- have an open mind
- take initiative and demonstrate dedication to help others without judgment or discrimination
- be flexible and open mind because the project involves different populations like migrants and cancer patients
- have patience and willingness to work with children, youth and adults
