About the local hosting organization

SJ Vietnam is an international youth NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that promotes values of solidarity, peace, tolerance through young citizenship projects to improve society during and after the voluntarism. It was set up in 2004 by and for national and international young volunteers. SJ Vietnam is a full member of CCVIS (Coordinating committe of international voluntary services) and NVDA (Network for voluntary development in Asia-Pacific), a partner of Alliance. SJ Vietnam is a non-political and non-religious organization which opens to everybody without any distinction of nationality, race, philosophy, financial resources, and education or sex.

Presentation of the program

 Participating every regular class and provide vocal pronunciation when needed  Organizing after-class activities including extra pronunciation & speaking class, cooking class, movie etc.  Helping the school or local volunteer agency to raise the awareness of the project and the school to get further support from outside if needed.  Daily close communication with teachers and students to understand their problems and needs. Objectives  Improving students’ speaking and listening ability for the targeted language.  Culture exchange: For you and students to understand each other in a personal and cultural level.

About the accommodation

 Dormitory with private bedroom and shower & toilet.  Food: Shared kitchen or School cafeteria, you can buy food yourself or you can eat with prepared food.  Amenities: water heater, the Internet, fan, air-conditioning, all beddings, desk, closet, TV hanger. (No washing machine)

Requirements

 Age: 20 and above.  Bachelor degrees or above (desirable to have working experience)  Communicate well in English and even without English (people here can speak only very limited English).  Desire to work with students.  Open minded for different cultures and backgrounds.  Have workshop running skills.  Be able to inspire people to build up confidence and team spirit and turn an idea into action.  Serious and highly reliable.  Good at independent work as well as team work.  Friendly and funny.
