About the local hosting organization
This project hosts elderly people who have been abandoned or have decided to leave their homes because of lack of support and care from their relatives and require help in their daily activities and health care.
Presentation of the program
The porject's ,main activities include:
- assisting to the personel
- providing support
- caring for the elderly
- participating and organizing activities like gymnastics, music, entertainment games, etc.
The volunteer is expected to:
- help the eldery with personal activities
- organize activities like entertainment and games
- exercise with the elders
- go for walks outside the home with the elders
- accompany the elders when they need to visit the doctor
Requirements
The volunteer should:
- have a high level of maturity and most importantly sensitivity.
- have experience working in education
- take iniciative
- have some knowledge of Spanish
It would be a great plus if the volunteer is a professional in psychology, pedagogy, or another area of health.
