Presentation of the program
Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) has nine (9) campuses located in strategic areas across the province of Negros Oriental, namely: Dumaguete (2) campuses, Bais (2) campuses, Bayawan-Sta. Catalina Campus, Siaton Campus, Guihulngan Campus, Pamplona Campus and Mabinay Campus. It supports research, innovation, development, and extension across the entire spectrum of the academe, businesses and communities.
NORSU serves as a key educational institution in the province of Negros Oriental, providing accessible and quality higher education to a diverse student population. NORSU plays a significant role in the socio-economic development of Dumaguete and the broader region by offering a wide range of academic programs, from undergraduate to graduate degrees that cater to the needs of both urban and rural communities. The university emphasizes research, innovation, and community outreach, engaging
students and faculty in projects that address local issues such as sustainable agriculture, public health, disaster resilience, and environmental conservation. NORSU conducts a variety of community and extension services, focusing on education, technology, livelihood, and resilience programs such as: Community Resilience Workshops, Community Empowerment through Science and Technology, Livelihood and Skill Development Projects, and
Educational Outreach Programs.
Volunteer tasks
Assist in the community initiatives of the university, support/assistance in the assigned office, assist in capacity-building workshops, assist in teaching academic/non-academic subjects including foreign language lessons, and other related activities.
