About the local hosting organization
Phaya lo Witthayakhom school located in the northern Thailand connected to Laosborder. The public school in the rural area caters to 550 students between the agesof 12 - 18 years old. The 550 students are distributed between grades 7 - 12. Thereare 220 students between grade 7 - 9 and 330 students between grades 10 - 12.School need international volunteers to create the activities for students to improveEnglish for communication and create intercultural environment in the school.
Presentation of the program
Volunteers will work as English teachers, preparing lessons or English Camp withthe teacher at the school.Creative teaching English ( Non-formal education tools can be used for creativeteaching; volunteer is not required teaching certificate but required to be creative.Aims of creative teaching is giving the chance for students in the school and localcommunity to have an opportunity to communicate with different languages andlearn different cultures.Volunteer would use Non-formal education tools to make activities based onIntercultural and language such as the games, songs, storytelling, and dancing.Also, it should focus on communication; listening and speaking.In addition volunteer can create theirs national club, for example, German club,Korean club to exchange with students in Language and culture.
About the accommodation
At School house 2 Volunteers per room with shared bathroom. There are commonarea and kitchenLunch will be provided at the school. Volunteer will cook breakfast and supper withhost family.Internet wifi is available at the school.
