Description of the town If there is a village with a typical Ardennes character, it is Champlon. Located at the entrance to the great Freyr forest, it offers preserved and even wild nature where it is good to walk. This important village owes its notoriety above all to its famous barrier culminating at 475 metres on the road linking Brussels to Luxembourg. Today it has disappeared (fortunately, no one pays a toll anymore!), but it gave the name to the place: Barrière de Champlon. The village is impressively long. Its church, Saint-Remacle, dates from 1884. There are some nice views over the landscape.
The hostel is located in a rather remote village. It is preferable that the volunteer has a vehicle. If possible speak French, English or Dutch
