Présentation du programme

Current interventions of MdM in Sierra Leone focus on reducing Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) problems by strengthening the public health system, raising community awareness, and advocating for improved governance with a gender-sensitive approach. The volunteer will be based in Koinadugu particularly Kabala town, and will work closely with both Logistics and Admin/Finance Officer. Tasks: Support the Sierra Leonean National team in financial administration and management as well as Logistics procedures and controlling in accordance with MdM policies and procedures; Strengthen the skills of the support team (Finance and Logistics) in applying MdM policies and guidelines; Support the logistics department in developing and maintaining a comprehensive supplier database focusing on key markets relevant to project implementation and needed services; Support the Logistics officer to prepare a market assessments to identify reliable suppliers, competitive pricing, and service quality.

Kabala is a calm and relatively safe town, offering a peaceful environment for work and daily life. The general atmosphere is friendly, and the community is welcoming. The work will take place at the MdM Sierra Leone base office that is located at Koinadugu district. The volunteer will then be accommodated in the organization's guesthouse. The volunteer will regularly receive information, support, & materials (laptop & phone) and transportation necessary for performing the functions assigned to them. You will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of 487€ to cover basic personal needs.

À propos des loisirs

Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Madrid with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as mandatory online training on security before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the support organisations and host organisations. 

Exigences

The Participant profile: EDUCATION • Bachelor's degree + 5 in economics and/or Bachelor's degree + 3 in administration/accounting; • Master's degree in development cooperation or similar; EXPERIENCE • Experience in administrative and/or financial management of private and/or public organizations; • Knowledge of funding instruments and donor guidelines, and project cycle management; • Experience or additional training in strategy definition, project formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and capitalization; • Experience in the field of international cooperation is an asset; • Contextual knowledge of Africa is an asset; SKILLS • Knowledge of basic administrative / financial and Logistics policies and procedures; ACCOUNTANCY • Knowledge of auditing or internal control; • Knowledge of donor regulations; • Analytical skills to propose innovative strategies or approaches; • Ability to work in an organized environment and manage priorities, under high professional pressure; • Dynamism, initiative, autonomy, and respect for rules; • Courtesy, open-mindedness, and flexibility; a sense of humor is essential; • Computer skills (qualifications or certifications in some of the following applications are recommended); • Standard Microsoft tools: Windows, MS Office; • Data analysis and statistics: MS Excel; LANGUAGES • English B2 or C1.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
