Présentation du programme

The project “Agents of Change: Creating environmental & social impact in the European Society” aims to transform young people into agents of change for the Greek and the European society by undertaking, important for the European local communities, initiatives and actions and implementing awareness activities on the main challenges that Europe is facing. Its main goal is to involve young people in different projects, events and activities that KEAN organizes for the support of vulnerable social groups such as immigrants, refugees, unaccompanied and separated children, unemployed, people in poverty, NEETs, women etc. as well as for the protection of the environment. The activity also includes the collaboration of our organization's members for the implementation of initiatives for social cohesion, intercultural dialogue, solidarity, non discrimination, inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable social groups and the protection of the environment.

À propos de l'hébergement

KEAN is responsible for fully covering the cost of your accommodation and the travel costs. The volunteer will stay in a shared fully equipped apartment in the center of the city of Athens which meets the required standards of hygiene and safety and has all the necessary equipment (home appliances, furniture, heating, household appliances, sheets, blankets etc.), it provides easy access to the public transportation and has access to the Internet, in order to promote and facilitate the communication of the volunteer with both their family and our organization.

Detailed training will be offered to the volunteers on the activity’s ethical and no harm codes, the organization’s environment protection policy and rule of conduct, on sensitive issues when working with vulnerable groups and the needed safety measures for working in the nature, not to disturb the local ecosystem. The main principles will be followed are: Equal participation and collective decision making Peer learning and support Learning by doing Active participation in intercultural activities Continuous guidance by experts Training on organizing and implementing awareness

Exigences

The Participant profile: Participant will need to be an EU citizen, 18-30 years old. Moreover, they will need to have: - good grasp of English and/or Greek Language -interest in the topics of environmental protection and social challenges -desire to engage in group activities to tackle environmental and social challenges Young people with fewer opportunities (individuals with disabilities, LGBTQI etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply for this activity.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
