À propos de l'organisme d'accueil local
APICE is a national youth NGO composed by young people under 35, aimed at promoting a common European culture though rising awareness among citizens and disseminating and promoting fundamental values of the European Union and the principles of the Council of Europe.
APICE actively contributes to the improvement of active youth participation, social development, dialogue and cooperation, by supporting the participation of citizens, NGOs, public and private authorities, to initiatives and programs promoted by European Union and Council of Europe, in particular in the field of youth, human rights education, social inclusion, access to rights of young people from disadvantaged background, engagement of youngsters at risk of criminalization, inclusion of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, youth participation to decision making process, youth mobility, adult education, urban regeneration and graphic arts.
APICE realizes its projects and activities by different methodological approaches: APICE offers specific training and seminars on project design and management, workshops on European awareness and citizenship, structured dialogue initiatives, conferences addressing young people, youth workers, educators, teachers and professionals interested in the field. Furthermore, APICE encourages its trainers and facilitators to stimulate young people participation, creativity and learning capacity by experimenting different kind of non-formal education methods.
APICE is involved in several international programmes and projects, such as Erasmus+ youth exchanges, training courses and structure dialogue initiatives, Europe for Citizens, Network of Cities and Civil Society projects, CoE seminars, Study Sessions, Conferences and local activities with youth in different regions of Italy. Thanks to the mentioned activities, their members learned the power of non-formal education, acquired a wide range of methods and implemented workshops with numerous youth groups.
In addition, APICE supports public institutions for the implementation, coordination and management of Europe Offices, Eurodesk, Europe Direct and other similar offices, providing experts, project managers and a Pool of trainers and facilitators (POT&F).
Finally, APICE is National Coordinator in Italy for No Hate Speech Movement of Council of Europe.
Présentation du programme
Volunteers will engage in activities promoting European values, social inclusion and youth participation developing initiatives that support European citizenship and human rights.
They will support local activities with young people joining E+ project or local youth projects in partnership with local autorities. Valunteers will support disadvantaged youth by assisting in initiatives that empower these groups. Additionally, they will contribute to community development activities, such as urban regeneration and youth mobility, helping to promote inclusion and social cohe-sion. Their main tasks will be: support the daily activies carried by APICE, participate in veluteering activites with local stakeholders, create multimedia contentens about their volunteering project, develop wrokshops, support logistic tasks during youth mobilities, participating in local and international initiatives, support youth work activities and events in the local youth center.

À propos de l'hébergement
The accomodation is located in Bocale, 10 km from the city center, in the south pheriperal area of Reggio Calabria, near the sea. The apartment, provided by APICE, is on the ground floor. On the first floor you will find APICE offices. It consists of: an entrance hall, a kitchen, a bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine. The 2 volunteers will share a double room. The accommodation is completly equiped with all commodities. The volunteer will receive a monthly pocket money of €350 for food and personal expenses. The travel expenses will be refunded.
À propos des loisirs
Once arrived, volunteers will receive a training from the local team of APICE to learn all the necessary information to engage in their volunteer roles and support the daily activities of the association. Added to that, they will participate to a weekly meeting with the mentor of the project that will support them during their stay. During these meeting, they will focus on the competences developed or aquired. Along the volunteering experience, specific training activities will be offered according with the needs of each volunteer. Access to the OLS platform,Online Language Support is provided

The Participant profile: We are looking for 2 volunteers. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are passionate about fostering a common European culture and supporting the values of APICE. The participant should be:
- Open-minded and positive: ready to engage with diverse perspectives and embrace new ideas.
- Flexible and adaptable: able to adjust to evolving situations and respond to changes with a proactive approach.
- Creative and proactive: bringing forward new ideas, showing initiative, and contributing to solutions that promote social inclusion and active youth participation.
- Respectful: demonstrating respect for others, especially for diverse cultures, backgrounds, and opinions.
- Motivated to collaborate: eager to work alongside youth, NGOs, public and private organizations, and local communities to drive positive change.
- Committed to learning: determined to expand knowledge, particularly in the areas of youth rights, social inclusion, human rights education, and european citizenship.
- Communicative and engaging: able to express ideas clearly, listen to others, and actively participate in discussions, workshops, and projects.
- Youth-focused: passionate about supporting young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, or in vulnerable situations.
- Good English and eager to learn Italian

The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
