À propos de l'organisme d'accueil local
Huvikool BRITANICA is a non-profit organisation, created to integrate children of Estonia into the European society. The main objective of the school is to provide local children with an environment which enables them speak at least two European languages ( English, German) by using formal and informal methods. Britanica unites 50-80 children aged between 8 and 17. Intercultural learning and foreign language experience will be integrated into the daily activities of children such as art workshops (drawing, making seasonal handicraft), attending cultural events in the town, and so on. Also, formal language lessons are in our working plan. The choice of activities depends on participants’ age and needs. In the working plan there are visits and excursions, teamwork, Reading Club, Conversation Club.
Présentation du programme
Britanica is a non-profit organisation, created to integrate children of Estonia into the European society. The main objective is to provide the local children with an environment which enables them to speak at least two European languages (English and German) by using formal and informal methods. Britanica has an aim to promote international understanding, solidarity and dialogue between young people and children all over the world. The organisation unites 50-80 children aged between 8 and 17. The children’s native language is Russian; thus, the project is dealing with the integration of ethnic minority group in Estonia. Intercultural learning and foreign language experience will be integrated into the daily activities of children such as workshops, attending cultural events in the town, visits and excursions, teamwork, formal language lessons, Reading Club, Conversation Club, etc. FOR INFO & HOW TO APPLY: https://estyes.ee/en/projects/hobby-school-britanica-1/
À propos de l'hébergement
Volunteers will be provided with suitable accommodation conveniently located near their respective hosting organisation. Accommodation will typically be in a shared apartment or hostel, furnished with essential items. Rooms may be private or shared, depending on availability, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Volunteers receive €5/day pocket money and a €7/day food allowance, managing their own meals. International travel is reimbursed based on set travel budget and task related local transport is covered to full extent.

Volunteers will take part in the ESC training cycle organized by the Estonian National Agency, which focuses on personal development and intercultural learning. Additionally, EstYES organizes hikes and other activities for volunteers throughout the service period, providing opportunities for social interaction.
Exigences
The Participant profile: The volunteer should be highly motivated and passionate about working with children. Previous experience in working with kids is considered an advantage, as it will help in fostering positive interactions and creating meaningful activities. It is essential that the volunteer not only brings creative ideas but also demonstrates a strong commitment to preparing and executing activities for the children.

At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
