La MAPAR est une structure d’hébergement pour jeunes « Habitat Jeunes » basée à Redon. Nous disposons d’environ 150 logements répartis sur 6 structures. Elle accueille majoritairement des jeunes travailleurs de 16 à 30 ans, mais aussi des apprentis, des jeunes en formation, des étudiants. L'équipe socio-éducative, composée de 4 animateurs, les soutient dans leurs démarches administratives, d'insertion sociale et professionnelle, culturelle. De plus, l’équipe propose, au travers d’un programme d’animation, des activités pour favoriser la vie collective et les échanges entre les jeunes. L’ensemble des actions menées tentent de le faire au travers d’une pédagogie participative, pour intégrer au mieux les résidents dans les activités. La Mapar organise également des actions de prévention sur les « problématiques jeunesse » (conduites à risques, sécurité routière, vie affective et sexuelle, addictions, …). L’ensemble des activités développées s’effectue avec les associations partenaires locales et institutionnels. L’été (de juin à fin août), la MAPAR est aussi Auberge de Jeunesse. Cette activité permet des échanges supplémentaires avec une population différente. La MAPAR est basée à Redon, une ville d’environ 10.000 habitants se situant géographiquement au sud de la Bretagne à égale distance de Rennes, Nantes et Vannes et à environ 60 km de la mer. Redon occupe une place centrale au sein d’un bassin de vie et d’emploi d’environ 80000 habitants. La population est majoritairement rurale et ouvrière. La gare TGV place Redon à 3 heures de Paris en train. Il est à noter que Redon est situé au carrefour de trois voies navigables: l’Oust, la Vilaine et le canal de Nantes à Brest. Le Pays de Redon est marqué par un fort dynamisme culturel particulièrement autour de la culture bretonne. Les nombreuses associations (cinéma associatif avec 7 salles, centre social, piscine, associations culturelles, d’animation …) contribuent à faire de cette petite cité une ville active où il fait bon vivre. La MAPAR accueille des jeunes issus de Bretagne, de toute la France, mais aussi des étrangers, notamment pour les études, mais parfois aussi pour le travail et quelques mineurs non accompagnés.

This mission is offered by MAPAR, a residence for young workers established in the area, in partnership with O’Formations Training center for animators (young adults) : 80% O’Formations / 20% MAPAR • Promote the values of the ESC/ Eu opportunities... among students in animation: during the training sessions, thematic events... • Propose workshops during training sessions, such as language-confidence games, activities on social/cultural diversity, intercultural exchanges, talents... • Receive training in facilitation and group animation methods related to animation with different publics (young children, teenagers, families, adults, seniors) • Co-facilitate intercultural activities in collaboration with the ESC volunteer at 100% MAPAR : Language Cafés, DIY workshops, sports activities.... • Possibility to propose personnal projects related to animation • Implement a collective project with the other ESC volunteers • 2h of French class every week

The volunteer will share a flat together with other European volunteers of Redon or with French people. He/she will get a food allowance of 8,00 € / day + 8,00 € / day for pocket money. There is no public transport in Redon but the volunteer will have the possibility to rent a bicycle for 5 € / month (covered by la MAPAR). The train station is located at 10 minutes walk from the flats. Redon is located at less that 1 hour from Rennes and Nantes.

The volunteer will get the support of Mapar team, and especially in youth project management (building a project, funds management, budget process, communication..). The volunteer will also participate in the staf f trainings according to the opportunities. The volunteer will have the support from the ESC coordinator in Mapar , who also supports the team of volunteers during their stay. The volunteer will also get 2 hours/ week French classes during the project + Online Linguistic Support access

The Participant profile: The candidate should be available for the proposed dates, and MUST have a driving licence and BE ABLE to drive safely a car even in France. - High motivation to take part in team work with a public of 16-30 years old, including some youngsters facing difficulties. - High motivation for reaching out to young people whatever their profiles - Sense of social work, ready to commit as a youth leader, mature enough to be able to keep a distance with a public from the same age. - Basis in French would be appreciated - Can work from tuesday until friday between 9am to 6pm. - Curiosity, creativity
