Activités : La Croix-Rouge française (CRF) a pour vocation de prévenir et d'apaiser toutes les souffrances. En France, à travers ses 950 unités associatives, elle anime et initie toute l'année des actions de solidarité (aide alimentaire et vestimentaire, SAMU sociaux, hébergement d'urgence...), de protection de l'enfance (lutte contre l'illettrisme, accueil mère-enfant...), de lutte contre la solitude des seniors et contre les violences. Auxiliaire des pouvoirs publics, la Croix-Rouge Française intervient lors de catastrophes naturelles et de situations d'exception (tempêtes et inondations en France). Avec ses 678 établissements, la Croix-Rouge française dispose d’un réseau sans équivalent de services adaptés, dans les champs social, médico-social, sanitaire et de formation. Membre du plus grand mouvement humanitaire mondial (188 sociétés nationales), elle compte 18 000 salariés et environ 60 000 bénévoles.

Présentation du programme

You will be part of the French Red Cross Local Unit in Sablé sur Sarthe. You will conduct "first aid initiation" training in primary schools and colleges and during solidarity events. You will ensure the administration of the animated trainings: contacts with the teachers, edition of diplomas, quotes, invoices… You will carry out actions such as "road prevention", "awareness of accidents domestic or "migration awareness" in colleges, communities or associations. You will set up communication tools (posters, flyers, social networks, etc.) You will promote volunteering in schools and during solidarity events. One afternoon per week, you will participate with all the volunteers of Sablé, in the distribution of food baskets for people in precarious situation.

À propos de l'hébergement

The volunteer will be housed in a fully equipped apartment with 3 bedrooms, and will share this apartment with another european volunteer. She/He will have at his disposal a bicycle. However a typical volunteering day will start at 9am and finish at 5pm with a one-hour lunch break. The volunteer could be asked to work on evenings according to local unit’s events. Sablé-sur-Sarthe is a small, welcoming town located in the Pays de la Loire region, just one hour and a half from Paris by train and half an hour to Angers. Surrounded by nature and rich in history, it offers a peaceful atmosphere.

The volunteer will take part in the following trainings: “Croix-Rouge Bienvenue” and training on gender-based and sexual violence First Aid training (“Citizen First Aid”) First Aid Instructor training Training on the French Red Cross internal tools and systems French language classes (1.5 hours, twice a week) with the association “Alpha Sablé” Civic and Citizenship Training An Individual coaching can be offered depending on the profil of the volunteer

The Participant profile: You wish to live in a small city in the countryside, with access to nature and sports, A very social person, willing to socialize a lot with French persons of all ages and backgrounds, Imaginative and creative, not only for activities but also for yourself. The volunteer should be interested in working with children and youth in a creative way.Able to drive a car in order to spend good times in the region, OK with an environment where one could sometimes feel isolated. The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
