Présentation du programme

Join Serve the City Paris, at a dynamic NGO in the heart of Paris, working with marginalized groups: homeless individuals, asylum seekers, refugees, and young migrants. The main goal of this volunteering mission is to learn French in a practical, meaningful context, while developing your autonomy, flexibility, and sense of social commitment. You'll be immersed in a real "mini United Nations", with over 60 different nationalities represented, you will therefore be required to communicate in both French and English throughout your stay. This multicultural context will challenge and enrich you with tolerance, adaptability, active listening, and interpersonal communication, all within a collaborative and non-hierarchical atmosphere. As for Concordia, it is the organisation coordinating the project: maintenance, some mentoring, and project funding. The activities will take place at Serve The City

À propos de l'hébergement

The volunteer will be accommodated in a 12 m² studio flat with an en-suite bathroom, located In Foyer Jeunes Travailleurs at 52 Rue Bobillot, 75013 Paris. The FJT is a living space designed for young workers, trainees and volunteers aged between 16 and 30. It offers accommodation as well as communal areas that encourage socialising, interaction and sharing in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere. The kitchen is shared by the residents. The volunteer will receive a food allowance of €8.50 per day as well as €8 in pocket money per day. A travel card will also be provided to facilitate their travel

À propos des loisirs

The volunteer has to attend all training or seminars related to the activity (ex: pre-departure, on-arrival, mi-term and evaluation training).

Exigences

The Participant profile: We are looking for an open-minded, curious and caring individual who is keen to get involved in a meaningful and supportive experience working with people in vulnerable circumstances. The volunteer should be keen to live in a multicultural environment, meet people from very different backgrounds and play an active role in the life of the organisation. This role is particularly suited to someone wishing to develop their independence, adaptability and team spirit, whilst improving their French. A positive attitude, the ability to listen, tolerance and a desire to share with others will be important qualities for thriving within the team and the international community at Serve the City Paris.
Deadline: 04/06/2026 23:59

Informations complémentaires

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
