Présentation du programme

Le Quai Culturel, founded in 2016, is a Tunisian association committed to creating opportunities for young people through youth exchanges, training courses, and volunteering projects across Europe and the Mediterranean region. The organization focuses on social inclusion and active citizenship, addressing topics such as migration, inclusion of people with disabilities, environmental sustainability, marine biodiversity, green technologies, and outdoor education. The project aims to: • Promote environmental awareness and encourage young people to adopt more sustainable lifestyles. • Foster recycling, waste reduction, and environmentally responsible practices within the local community. • Strengthen intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding between Tunisian and Italian youth through collaborative activities and shared experiences. • Support community engagement in Ben Arous by involving local residents, organizations, and young people in environmental and social initiatives.

À propos de l'hébergement

The Youth Cultural and Sports Center of Ben Arous is a modern, multifunctional facility located in the southern suburbs of Tunis, Tunisia. Designed as a hub for youth participation, cultural activities, sports, and community engagement, the center provides high-quality spaces for learning, creativity, and social interaction. The complex was developed through a cooperation project between Tunisia and China and was officially completed in 2022. Today, it serves as an important meeting point for young people, local organizations, and international partners, offering a dynamic environment.

Exigences

The Participant profile: The participant profile focuses primarily on motivation, enthusiasm, and adaptability rather than on professional experience. Participants must be aged between 18 and 30 years old. The project aims to bring together a balanced group of Italian volunteers and local Tunisian youth in order to foster meaningful intercultural exchange and mutual learning. We are looking for young people who are passionate about sustainability, climate action, waste management, and the promotion of greener urban spaces. No specific academic background or qualifications are required; however, participants should be willing to engage in hands-on environmental activities and contribute actively to community initiatives. The ideal volunteer is an energetic, open-minded, and proactive young person who is motivated by environmental awareness, social engagement, and teamwork. They should be eager to collaborate in an intercultural setting, build connections with Tunisian youth, and make a positive and lasting contribution to the Ben Arous Center and its surrounding community. Dates DO NOT include travel days.
Deadline: 05/06/2026 12:00

Informations complémentaires

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
