Centrul European de Tineret (The European Youth Centre - EYC) is a non-profit, nongovernmental, independent and apolitical association. Our association is performing its activities at local, national and European levels. The association has been founded in June 2013 in Bucharest,Romania. The association ran its activities only to promote volunteering. The EYC has in this moment 6 years of experience of working with young volunteers from Romania and Europe. Our association has a team of 6 teachers and 15 young volunteers who work and perform the volunteering activities at local and European levels. The objective of the association is to realise programs specific to and for youth and promoting volunteering in the educational, social, artistic, sportive, touristic, entertainment, economic and ecological domains. The association has as a purpose the development of the ability of communication and of the freedom of speech of the youngsters and volunteers from Romania and Europe. The target group of the association is the youngsters aged 14 to 30 years. To the unfolding of our projects may participate any of the youngsters that are disadvantaged or marginalised from the community. We are focused on the integration of marginalised youngsters and the information and instruction of the youngsters with fewer opportunities, especially the ones from the rural area. The activities of the association consist of: our activities began in the Ilfov County and we focused on the development of some local youth and volunteering centres in the poor and isolated towns of this county. This way we managed in the 5 years of activity to develop 2 centres of volunteering in Brănești and Cirogârla and we have in mind the development of this kind of centres in Dragomireşti Vale and Buftea as well. All of these have been possible to develop due to the financing obtained from the Erasmus + program which helped our team to present the youngsters what are the European opportunities of education. Our team has 3 years of experience at the European level and is permanently bettering its level of preparedness for realising some successful projects within ESC. The members of the team have run a series of projects within the Erasmus + program and wants to develop new volunteering projects in ESC.Our association, during the 6 years of existence, implemented a series of volunteering projects in RO which it directly coordinated. The team of our association worked with disadvantaged youngsters from Ilfov County and tried to help them develop better; we offered them the chance of gaining trust in the chance of integration in the community through their inclusion in the projects of volunteering and education. Our team has a series of partnerships at the local level with education institutions, along with which we implemented a series of projects which addressed the youngsters and which pursued the growth of their participation to volunteering activities which we ran in Bucharest and in the Ilfov County. In the 5 years of activity we managed to open two volunteering centres in the towns: Brănești and Cirogârla. The activities of our projects unfold within the school campuses of Cezar Nicolau High School from Brănești and the Pamfil Seicaru High School from Cirogârla in which the European volunteers are accommodated and run their volunteering activities within the high schools from Ilfov. Our association hosted a series of EVS volunteers in the Ilfov County. Our team has only been a co-beneficiary within the hosted project of the volunteers from Turkey in the projects: 2016-3-TR01-KA105-036886; 2017-1-TR01-KA105-040618; 2017-2-TR01-KA105-047478. Our team also took part in a preparation course for the inclusion of the disadvantaged youngsters: 2017-2-TR01-KA105-047423. After the experience accumulated our team has successfully implemented a Youth Exchange: Multicultural Space, 2017-3-RO01-KA105-047275. The project had a series of successful activities and together with our partners from the project (Portugal and Turkey) we have prepared and developed an ESC project in RO.This way we have applied and had the first approved ESC project in RO:Multicultural Community: 2019-1-RO01-ESC11-061935. In this situation our team wants to ask the number of ESC volunteers our association can host at the same time. We want to increase the number to 24 ESC volunteers. We think that it is opportune to develop new volunteering centres in as many communities from Ilfov as possible. These centres are beneficial to both sides: the local community of youngsters, as well as the ESC volunteers who will be able to communicate and interact with disadvantaged youngsters and to develop new communication, tolerance and education abilities in new spaces and communities from RO. In this moment, our association has an approved ESC project with a partner from Turkey situated in Ankara and a partner from Portugal which will send in the period September 2019–July 2020 a number of 20 volunteers from RO.
