Présentation du programme
Are you a mature, dedicated individual eager to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people with fewer opportunities? Do you believe that an inclusive world is built not just on words, but on active participation and genuine support? If so, we invite you to "Level Up Your Impact!" by joining our team as a volunteer at the Special School for Work Adaptation in Kwidzyn, Poland.
As an ESC volunteer, you will be at the heart of our mission, providing direct support and fostering a truly inclusive atmosphere. Your involvement will include:
Assisting teachers with educational and caregiving tasks, supporting students in daily activities such as eating, cleaning, and enhancing mobility and manual skills. Providing crucial support during both academic and extracurricular classes, ranging from math and social skills training to after-school clubs, outings, hydrotherapy, mobility improvement exercises, and sensory integration and others.

À propos des loisirs
Before coming to Poland, volunteers have to be prepared for the project by the supporting organization from the volunteer's country. Volunteers participate in the training offered by the Polish National Agency: on-arrival training and mid-term, and Akwedukt's Association inner programme: introduction training, methods of working with kids, monthly meetings and evaluation sessions, skill-oriented meetings, youthpass certification trainings, and any other preparation and trainings needed inside the Hosting Organisations.
Exigences
The Participant profile: We are seeking a responsible, empathetic, and proactive individual over 24 years old who is deeply committed to the principles of inclusivity and active participation. The ideal candidate will:
Be between 18-30 years old at the start of their ESC project. (Please note: While the school caters to individuals up to 24, our preference for this specific role is for a volunteer over 24 to align with the maturity and experience required for working with young adults with disabilities.)
Be ready to work within a small, dedicated community and gain knowledge in a non-formal educational environment.
Demonstrate strong organizational abilities, initiative, and at least basic English proficiency.
Embrace daily routines and be highly motivated to organize diverse activities that enhance integration among Polish and international students, children, and youth.
Be a self-motivated, forward-thinking individual who is proactive in planning and executing activities vital to local communities.
Possess a genuine desire to inspire youth participation in civic life and foster personal and European identity development.
Be flexible to work full-time (minimum 35 hours per week with two days off), potentially including evenings and weekends depending on community events.

Important Note Regarding Visa Applications for Non-EU Candidates
We highly value diversity within our volunteer team and welcome applications from both EU and non-EU countries. Our aim is always to foster an inclusive environment that benefits from a wide range of cultural perspectives.
However, we must bring to your attention a significant challenge that frequently impacts candidates from certain non-EU countries. Despite repeated attempts, a considerable number of applicants from Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria have faced persistent difficulties in obtaining the necessary visas from their respective Embassies or Consulates, often resulting in outright refusals. Furthermore, candidates from Egypt and Turkey experience a high rate of visa rejections, with approximately 50% of applicants from these two countries not receiving visa approval, even after multiple applications.
Unfortunately, these decisions are beyond our control as the host organization. We understand that this situation can be incredibly disheartening for prospective volunteers, leading to wasted time and dashed hopes. Furthermore, it's important to note that project budgets are non-refundable for costs incurred if a volunteer is unable to commence their project due to visa refusal.
While we remain committed to offering opportunities to all eligible candidates, we feel it is crucial to provide this transparent information upfront. We encourage all applicants, especially those from the aforementioned countries, to be fully aware of these potential visa-related challenges.
