Présentation du programme

Volunteer Animal Caretaker AAP (Animal Advocacy and Protection) gives primates and other exotic mammals a better future! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with an affinity for animals that want to help us in our daily activities. Join us in Almere and help us take care of the animals! About AAP We are an European animal welfare organization dedicated to the welfare of exotic animals. It is our mission to end their suffering by rescuing animals in need and advocate for better laws and regulations. The animals that end up with AAP often come from illegal trade, circuses, illegal zoos or directly from private individuals. About the job You will be working 32 hours a week at four animal departments; Quarantine, Mammals, Primates, Chimpanzees and our Central Kitchen. A big part of your job will be cleaning enclosures, feeding the animals, food preparation, small maintenance jobs, making enrichment plus giving it to the animals and the refurbishing of an enclosure.

À propos de l'hébergement

At AAP Netherlands we have two volunteer houses. One is located on site of the organization and the other one close to Almere center. In both houses the volunteers will live together and share a kitchen, living room, garden and bathroom, where we provide all the basic amenities such as: bedding, towels, soap, cleaning products and cooking gear. The volunteers all have a private bedroom. We will provide food and pocket money due to the funds of the European Solidarity Corps project. On working days, you will get free lunch at our AAP canteen. For transport we will supply you with a bicycle.

À propos des loisirs

At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
