À propos de l'organisme d'accueil local

Our organization carries out educational, rehabilitational, participational and leisure time activities for youth and young adults in various life situations and conditions. Depending on their needs and personal aims we create opportunities for vulnerable or marginalized people to integrate into society, build up their self knowledge and skills towards independent, full life, and be active members of the community. During activities, we also seek to learn together social, entrepreneurial, and work-related skills which help them easily integrate into the educational world and/or labor market, and increase knowledge on social entrepreneurship and self-employment. The organization provides youth work, educational, working life and social services and training for more than 2 000 young people per year directly. Every year we work together with over 15 000 young people all over Finland. We have strong local, national and international network of organisations working together for youth participation. We also work closely together with many stakeholders relevant to young people such as municipalities, educational institutes, universities, ministries and policy makers. We are also part of the national Expertise Centre for Social Economy (www.yyo.fi).

Présentation du programme

Are you passionate about supporting well-being and offering guidance or communication tasks? As our volunteer, you’ll work alongside professionals in guidance and coaching tasks in Turku and Tampere units of NGO Valo, a national association promoting access to learning, employment, and participation. You’ll work with some of society’s most vulnerable young people and adults, who may face challenges such as social isolation, interrupted education, mental health difficulties, or long-term unemployment. They benefit from patient support, encouragement, and steady routines as they build confidence and new skills. You’ll help plan, implement, and evaluate activities based on your interests. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in guidance methods, mental-health-aware work and communication. The volunteering periods are 6 months. Please send your CV by email ([email protected]) and fill in your application here: https://forms.office.com/e/zWmqpwpMV3 .

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
