À propos de l'organisme d'accueil local

Bouworde vzw is part of IBO, Internationale Bouworde, an international organisation founded in 1953. Bouworde is a Belgian youth organisation that sends nearly 1000 young volunteers abroad every year, mostly for short-term workcamps but also for long-term voluntary service. Bouworde organises workcamps in Belgium, Europe and in low and middle income countries all over the world. By living together with local people and helping small, local non-profit organisations/charities/small NGOs/... the youngsters learn about other cultures, other societal needs (e.g. migration, inclusion, climate change, poverty, ...), and about themselves. The aim of the workcamps is thus to encourage intercultural exchange, solidarity and global citizenship. We help youngsters acquire social and intercultural skills and encourage them to identify themselves as European citizens. Our target group is aged between 15 and 30 years. We have two different sections in our organisation: projects for 15 till 18 year old youngsters, and one for 18 till 30 year old volunteers. Crucial to all our activities are the obligatory predeparture trainings for our participants. For Bouworde, the workcamps are a means of education and intercultural exchange, and therefore pre-departure trainings are key to our organisation.

Présentation du programme

Aljaz and Moyca have started an inspiring project in beautiful Istria, where they want to breathe new life into an abandoned farm. This farm is growing into a real organic farm with the ethics of permaculture as its foundation. But that's not all! It will also become an educational center where people can learn the art of organic farming, where young people can follow interesting workshops, and where the community is strengthened. This project is still in its early stages, but Aljaz and Moyca are full of enthusiasm and determination. During your stay in Istria, you will not only contribute to the restoration of the farm where they live, but also to the development of the center where they will give their valuable workshops. A unique opportunity to be involved in a sustainable initiative in a breathtaking environment!

À propos de l'hébergement

There is a choice between sleeping in the house, or in tents you bring yourself. The meals will be very diverse and healthy, with lots of vegetables from your own garden.

À propos des loisirs

You will learn a lot about permaculture, about natural diversity about the importance of respecting nature. Aljaz has a lot of knowledge about this and would like to share it with you.

At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
