ASA proposes the following objectives: a) Seek solutions to human problems arising from poverty, to the family, to children, young people and women. b) Assume the challenge of poverty in all its senses, deepen the knowledge of its causes and investigate how much it prevents a true integral development. c) Encourage a true community spirit that fosters solidarity as an indispensable style to promote justice and unity among the inhabitants of the same sector

We assign the roles depending on their interests and abilities, where we most need their presence is in the Children's Centers with children from 1 to 3 years of age, as helpers of the educators. Games, motor development, help in feeding infants. At Casa Familia as an educator, help with homework, English, math, geography, etc. No higher education level is required.During a typical week the volunteers come at times like 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the children of the children's center. Or from 11:00 to 17:00 for school support children. Every day, a previous planning is followed where educators and volunteers are in charge of an activity during the day. In the morning the children are fed breakfast, the scheduled activity is performed, recreation is done, then lunch, rest and departure of the volunteer

ASA SPONDYLUS, with a capacity of 12 people, has 6 double rooms, two kitchens, two living rooms, two dining rooms, three shared bathrooms, hot water, clothes washer and unlimited internet of good quality.VOLUNTEER DEPARTMENT, we have four double bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, two bathrooms, hot water, washing machine and internet, preference for those who want to come for a period of three months.The monthly cost in the Spondylus House is 200 dollars of the stay and 120 meals in total 320.

The volunteers have lunch and have refreshments in the children's centers or school support centers, the breakfasts and dinners are at home. On the weekend, volunteers will take a walk to the city, they can take food shopping, such as sandwiches or cookies.

О местоположении

We work in urban-marginal neighborhoods in northern Quito. We provide foster services to all migrant children who are not accompanied by adults. The shelters are located in slums where we work.

The city of Quito is one of the most recognized tourist destinations in Latin America, for its historic center declared a world heritage site. A few hours away are very famous excursion destinations such as Mindo located in the protective forest of Chocó, a reserve that runs through Panama, Colonbia and Ecuador. Volunteers can go out alone or in a group of volunteers, both with the boys from the shelters and in tourism, to nearby beaches, to excursions in volcanoes and lakes that are located near Quito.
