A propos de l'organisation localeNature conservation is a project focusing to the human actions directed towards maintaining the integrity and balance of the ecosystems and biodiversity. The end results is on preventing or correcting the damages the ecosystems suffer due to human activities. It is a fact that, human actions may only be enabled after a general awareness is raised about the ecological impact of human activities. It then translates into both individual and collective actions in many human activity fields that have an impact on nature, such as: Agriculture; Forests exploitation; Farming; Hunting and fishing; Water and waste management etc. In each of these fields, conservation programs strive to limit the negative impacts on nature or to correct them. The concept of nature conservation is built on a reasoned management of resources whereas the preservation concept works towards the protection of sensitive natural ecosystems against any human damage.

A propos de l'organisation localeThe United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, are calling for action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. These 17 Goals build on the successes of the Millennium Development Goals, while including new areas such as climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace and justice, among other priorities. The goals are interconnected ( often the key to success on one will involve tackling issues more commonly associated with another. The SDGs work in the spirit of partnership and pragmatism to make the right choices to improve life, in a sustainable way, for future generations. The goals provide clear guidelines and targets for all countries to adopt in accordance with their own priorities and the environmental challenges of the world at large.Realization of these goals by 2030 will depend on various factors on which Grassroots ownership is one of them. This project is aiming to contribute to awareness creation leading to change-oriented communication where all the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and targets are communicated to community groups in response to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This project is a platform for volunteers and other interested members to become stimulated to contribute their own ideas and energies, thus contributing to live debates on sustainable issues. This will be realized through community events, interactive sessions on the SDGs and their targets, capacity building for community stakeholders and dialogue with local Government authorities in relation to SDGs and the targets.

A propos de l'organisation localeMost schools in Tanzania have vacation on the Easter season, and during this time kids are expected to join family members for extracurricular activities, educational tours and other studies outside class rooms. However, the experience has indicated that most students do not have any structured activities that are fully involving them for personal and academic development. As a result, bad influences in the society during holiday time have affected the kids significantly since they join different peer groups and have limited supervision of their parents or guardians. This project is aiming to fill in the gap through effectively utilizing the vacation time and to allow students/kids to join structured activities which will contribute to their growth. At the same time also allow parents to focus in productive economic activities.

A propos du travail de volontaire

We are expecting to work with 30-60 children from the community, between 5- and 13-year-olds, mostly pre-school and primary school students. Volunteers tasks will include:

Safari

Alpinisme (Kilimanjaro, Meru, etc.)

Kibele Tunguu (Zanzibar) & Tumbe, Micheweni (Pemba).
